This video is made for educational and promotional purposes only. Kindly watch out and share this tragic story of Khiamniungans.
The story of LAO KING is all about the two lovers where their love journey ended on that very mountain. "LAO" means 'stop or ended', KING refers to 'Mountain'. The two lovers ended their life journey and died together on this mountain. More details are translated in the video. Enjoy watching and be blessed.
ABOUT THE RACONTUER:
THEMSHAO LAM is a native of Pathso Nokeng Village under Noklak District, belonging to the Khiamniungan Tribe of Nagaland. She's a student of Kohima College, Kohima, pursuing her BA 6th Semester with English Honours. She enjoy sketching portraits, Loves poetry writings and essays. She's also a member of Sonic Flamers Dance Crew. She's interested in writing from her young age and aspire to write books about her land in the future. She had participated in many events and competitions even to the state and district Level in painting, essay and story competitions and received many awards.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. 2016 - participated in visual art competition under the theme "Beti Bachao Beti Badhao" under Kala Utsav program represented the state at Delhi.
2. Secured 1st position under the category of essay writing competition during the Literary day organised by KSUK.
3. Secured 3rd position during District Level Essay Writing Competition under the theme "Fundamental Rights and Duties of a Citizen"
4.2018 - Winning 3rd prize in Art and Painting Competition under the topic "Accessible and Essy Election" as a part of Youth Voters Festival under SVEEP ( Systematic Voters Education and Electors participation.
5.2020 - Won the 1st prize in Essay Writing Competition organised by KSUK under the title "My Vision for NokLak, 20 years from now"
6. 2021 - Secured 1st position in Oral-Story Telling Compition in one's own Dialect organised by Kohima College, Kohima in collaboration with internal Quality Assurance cell.
