Not sure if someone else has suggested this but on walls when fully extended it's worth putting some sleeves or protection on the top posts ends of the ladder. I have found especially on white walls the black rubber ends can leave marks.. (a pair of thick woolly socks work well).

It's a nice review, I just don't like the design of the main hinge. I've seen that hinge type go bad. They're fairly precise, the hinge pieces. The slightest bit of rust kills 'em.

What about if it is fully extended and you are above the hinge. That's what I'd like to see. I have one and want to see it safely operated in a review before going up to the highest three rungs with it fully extended. Thanks
The greater the angle the more flex and back and forth motion there would be. When first trying have someone hold the ladder. The ladder will not buckle, however you will have to get used to the motion. Typical of this type of ladder. I use this ladder indoors when set up is in a tight situation. Otherwise its little giant. Fright fully heavy for some however it is like climbing up a set of stairs, very solid. You will also want to buy a silicon spray so it pulls out much easier. Needs to be lubricated.
It makes me nervous the manual also says not to extend it by the rungs and only use the plastic coupling, but that's nearly impossible I'm many situations , i don't know whether I regret this purchase or not yet, it's kind of unnerving to use.
Be careful. I just got out of the hospital. Mine failed. I broke my neck, leg, two fingers and also had a concussion. My neck was broke at C5 and C6 was moved inward. Lucky to be alive.

The manual said to extend from the 3rd rung, very confusing terminology., If you do that, it's dangerous, so it seems the safest way is to extend from the top regardless

I just bought one of these but only the 10’ single to get up into my attic... Very satisfied with this purchase... had not ever seen one of these until the week that I ordered it ... o had a question about the double sided ladder at one point I saw it lock at the MID POINT as in an upside down L shape ... is that an option if someone wants to climb up and OVER ( example bush’s ?

When it is in A frame, when it is extended, there is movement when you are moving it around or ion it, how can you stop it from tilting when you are on it ?
DANGEROUS VIDEO TO WATCH 1. he unfolds it wrong 2. In extension he has the ladder backwards to the wall. The hinge does not have strength when reversed and flexes more. 3. Black rubber ribbed feet as he climbs will leave back Mark's and the over flexing of the ladder while climbing because he has it backwards will tear into the drywall. This is 30 years of window cleaning and knowledge of this type of ladder.
That reversed hinge use looks so dangerous. I have a set of these and be careful don't climb with the main hinge backwards as at 7.03 turn the ladders round. The hinge should have the round portion on the inside.
i just got mine, did you have to BREAK off the plastic pegs that are inside the legs to install the stabilizer bar on the bottom in order to get the bar in to screw it in?...Thanks!
Are those black things connecting the steps made of plastic or metal? planning to buy this ladder but I doubt the reliability of this ladder in a longer use. I almost weight 100kgs and we have a old aluminum ladder which is bulky and doesn't foldable and it's frustrating to carry them so I want this.
The thumb slider is plastic but not the actual stop itself. They would sheer strait away if that were the case. Been using these intermittently for the last four years probably, with no issues. Get them on amazon and if you don't think they are up to the job, return them 👍🏻
this is not safe at all, the fact that those not extended steps still unlocked, means if you try to left or move the ladder as A type, those steps will start extended, which is safe at all when you clime the ladder!!! never the less when you try to move around, unless you have to close it and carrying the ladder from the bottom to avoid extending the bottom steps each time you move it around, which won't be convenient if you using the ladder to decorate a room from example. I guess they are only safe when they are fully extended, other wise it is very dangerous.
OMG in the bedroom you then extend it and have the folding hinge facing out - where it could collapse like crocodile jaws and kill you - and worse.. you have the release bar on the inside where your foot could kick it forward and release it all on you! And then downstairs you won't even go up past the half way point... i reckon you got shares in the company that makes them
And yet...… I'm still alive. One of the best purchases I've made. Put them in the back of the car to take to the businesses when required, easily store them in the garage and bring up to the house (unlike the two 7m double extension ladders that take an age to store and can only be used around the house unless you have a ladder rack on the cars). I must just like to live dangerously....
Yep, I'worked at the top, fully extended. Very bouncy and creaky but safe. Horses for courses, this is about ease and convenience. If continually using it fully extended I'd root out one of the extension ladders
@@CloughReviews How far out from the wall do you have the base of your ladder when going to the top? - I've found it has to be about 1.5m so far and that's just to get to the first step above the half way point - after that I start getting to close to the wall for my feet. Also holding onto the sides gets harder as they get larger - and the rungs become narrower so harder to hold onto... How do you manage with it?
@@jaydee2559, yes, probably that or just over 1.5m. I usually get one of the kids or my wife to foot the ladder if I'm going up (except when my son was taking the video....). I don't use the ladder in the same way as a normal extension ladder, where my body is up past the top rungs though. For me, it was the flexing of the ladder I had to get used to, I certainly climb up it more carefully. Still, I can take it with me anywhere and use it in the house easier.
These Chinese makes are dangerous in the long run, Bought the more expensive Xtend+Climb ProSeries S2 Aerospace Grade Aluminium Telescopic Ladder 3.8m £259.99. Maybe this AutoBaBa brand is okay for someone less than 90kg, but in the long term, not durable with regular use. I use a ladder regularly, so will not risk my neck with this.
Took me like 5 mins too. Just push in it those 2 little black plastic will break of than secure it with the bolt. There should be in a pre drilled hole in the bar.
It's sturdy but flexes. Also like any ladder, you are not going to stand on the top 3 or 4 rungs when it's leaned against a wall. The video was for demonstration, used it lots of times since (including when I fell off the roof 😭😭😭) never a problem. 👍😁

Fortunately, that's not the case. Been all the way up a few times since the Vid. I did get a 2.6m set recently though, for the shorter heights (and they are lighter to carry)
When fully extended, you had the central main hinge pointing both in and out. Does it matter which way around the hinge points? Is the ladder as strong either way? There is quite a lot of "bounce" when climbing up through the middle, having the hinge the wrong way could unduly stress it.
Hi Glenn, just been and checked it, there is no warning on the labels as to which way you should use it when at 180 degree. Also, it feels just as strong either way. I would be tempted to have it with the hinge facing me as I'm climbing though as this would mean the release lever for the hinge lock is on the other side of the ladder so out of the way. The other way is dangerous as it could easily collapse inwards like a crocodile's jaws - think about it .. if you accidentally put your toe against the release catch ... click oops! (There should be a note in the manual about the correct orientation in the fully extended mode.) While there are other 4 sectioned ladders that have the hinge points going both ways - each section is only a small length so the 'bending moment' is within limits when the ladder climber is no more than the weight limit allows. For this longer ladder as mentioned the stronger 'bending moment' is against the limit of the hinges - think of it when in 'A' frame step ladder mode - you climb on the 'outside' of the ladder rungs - not inside! Be safe.
I need to take down an external intruder alarm siren will these do the job and are they safe enough to go to that height as I’d say it’s around roughly 5/6m (17 feet) high plus my body height which is 6foot 4, so about 23 feet high I’ll be. Is this safe as I’m pretty nervous with it being a little bit bouncy and collapsing while I’m up at that height?
Hi, it is bouncy but still safe at height when fully extended. I think that they may be just tall enough for what you want though. Make sure you have someone footing the ladder for you. I've used these lots of times now and quite a few have been fully extended, so don't worry about that.

No, they are not dangerous, I was showing you how to use them, not how you can do aerobatics on the top rung..... Been using them for a few years now, no issues at all. They creak and bend a bit but you have convenience v rigidity. You make the call on what you want. If you are like me, you have extending ladders, step ladders and telescopic ladders. Use the one that suits the job best. 👍🏻😁
The product is dangerous as a full extension ladder as it bends- it is too flimsy -I am 82kg, and when fully extended it bends like bamboo. This review is a joke as he never stands on and climbs up to the top it when it is fully extended. If he would do it you could see how flimsy and dangerous this product is.

Yes but, it would also lose the friction and may increase slip risk so be careful. It's rubber for a reason.

We had to break the tiny plastic pegs in the feet of the ladder in order to get the stabilizer bar on the bottom.
Yes I found that very strange and I first thought they were part of the rivets

It's not an everyday ladder, but when you need it it is truly invaluable. So yes, still use it regularly

The product is dangerous as a full extension ladder as it bends- it is too flimsy -I am 82kg, and when fully extended it bends like bamboo. This review is a joke as he never stands on and climbs up to the top it when it is fully extended. If he would do it you could see how flimsy and dangerous this product is.
