I agree The Balboa in Banker's Hill is the best I've had in SD. Boomerangs in Clairemont is always overlooked. I had a suprisingly good burger at King's Fish House too.
Yummy yummy burger time! They all look so good. Craving a burger now. Unfortunately the only burger I've had in San Diego is at In n Out and it was really good. Definitely plan to try at least one of these places on my next trip. Please do a part 2. How about top 5 Italian, dumplings, or donuts/bakeries/pastries. I live for dessert.😂
Hi Jay, Loved this video. Yes for a part 2. Love everything you do in San Diego since I live here. I like Islands and their French fries are so good. Remember when IHOP did a big thing on their burgers so that may be interesting and how they compete with the burgers at Denny's and CoCo's. What about reviewing the best five foods in a particular city, i.e., Chula Vista, IB, Mira Mesa, etc. Maybe fast foods and hen restaurants? Keep up the great work inreviewing food places in my home town too.
STP is a great spot. Burgers are great, but so is everything else. Cool vibe, great owners, easy parking, and great food. Not a drinker, but it seems like they have a good beer selection. It's definitely a must try.
Oooh ...Jeffs beach Burger sounds interesting. I have never been there even though I live in La Jolla Colony . The Cheese Shop is usually my go to in that neighborhood (the lamb and roast pork sandwiches there are some of my fav's). I will have to give Jeff's a try. The rest of your list are all respectable and deserve recognition. SD has a very respectable burger scene.
p.s. My previous post stated that my family’s favorite burgers in San Diego were from Red Robin and The Habit. However, after viewing this video and asking them to confirm my beliefs, my family informed me that In-N-Out Burger is definitely their favorite burger in San Diego- you just have to eat it fresh, like most burgers. They also like the option of having it cut in half. 🍔 😁
@@bigvalley4987, Oh hey! That’s a fun fact to know! I remember the 🎵‘Hold the pickles,🎶hold the lettuce,🎶special orders don’t upset us- -🎵commercial, but I never knew that they started the cutting-it-in-half part. Nice 👍 Be well, stay kind and blessings~
Chicago Fire Grill is hands down one of the best in terms of taste, value, and simplicity for those that are seeking burgers cooked with rarity. They even give a free beer with their $10 hamburger combo. The Balboa is hands down up there as well except it definitely is a little pricey. If youre looking for smash burgers like Eat Crispy or Friendly's, Freddy's up in San Marcos had some fantastic choices. It was surprising since its a chain. On a side note, if youre ever looking to do a philly cheesesteak video, Philly Franks in San Marcos is HANDS DOWN the most phenomenal philly cheesesteak spot in San Diego (located in San Marcos). Ive never really cared for philly cheesesteaks in my life up until I had theirs. Their ranch sauce is to die for.
I'm seriously shocked/suprised you didn't try Canada Steak Burger in El Cajon Blvd. Never had anything from there, but def plan on it & its very highly rated & heard lots of good things about their food
@matthewbyars66 awesome! That's a item I def plan on trying, especially since I love gyros & burgers! 😋 I also plan on trying their pastrami with a burger! As well as their other sandwiches 😆
Great reviews! My family really likes Red Robin and The Habit burgers, but I think this video may tempt them to venture out a bit more. 🍔 Would you consider rating some of San Diego’s vegan/plant based restaurants? Actually, that may be asking a lot for someone who’s not plant-based. I’ve only found a few places that I like, and I’ve been plant-based since 2017. 😅 Be well, stay kind and blessings to all ~✨🙏
@@Jaycation I just looked Dosa Studios up on WAZE. Did this restaurant just recently open in this location? Two of our sons went to the US Navy Recruiters right next door from it! I recall there being a restaurant there, but we never had time to check out the places to eat when we’d been there for their enlisting ceremonies. Oh, wait- our sons would grab Burger King on occasion, as it’s in the same parking lot/center, unless Knock Out Pizzeria had already donated some pizzas for lunch for the new recruits. Thank you for the suggestion. We’ll check it out next time we’re in that area. The menu looks delicious! Be well, stay kind and blessings to all~
Go fishing on a San Diego fishing boat and get a boat burger. Everything tastes better on the water. My favorite is on the Liberty out of Fisherman`s Landing.
Rockies Crown Point burgers are cooked in Butter, that’s their secret and that’s why they are so good. My favorite also and Hodads. I won’t even go to the other 3
Just tried Hodad’s for the first time this past summer while on family vacation. Went to the one in downtown. Unfortunately the only parking I found was near a homeless encampment. So the smells as I walked to the restaurant kinda ruined my appetite. Also, wondering if my car was going to get broken into while I was eating kinda had me rush through my meal. Maybe I’ll have to try it’s OG location to get a better experience.
The Nessy I know are off the I-15 and the 76. I don’t know if they are in Poway, but heard those are very good and Jay should definitely go review them.
@@Jaycation Nessy like Lochness Monster. It was a small spot off the freeway going from Temecula to San Diego (my ex broke up with me there) hood burgers and fries

We go to Jollie-Bees to get my husband the Peach Pies. However, he hasn’t wanted them for over a year now due to price increases- but increases are everywhere, so I’ll probably get him a Jollie Bees gift card for his Christmas stocking this year. Then he won’t think about the price so much 😅
