I LOVE this so much. As a PhD student who is starting to get interested in molecular ecology, it’s just so lovely to see scientists taking part in communications efforts! We sometimes forget that we have been in this world of scientific jargon for so long. The concept of a genome and what it represents and the work that goes around studying it (as a subject itself and comparatively between and within species) is pretty complicated!
Biswa. Please keep doing this series. Even if it the production quality has to be reduced to cater to the unit economics of the video but this is important. Monetizing cheap laughs by highlighting sensational topics is easy. The real things are difficult, niche and important. I don't know if you would read this. But wish you all the best for this series
Great episode! NCBS is one of the best places to study science in India- speaking with experience. Some other suggestions of great scientists and speakers- 1) Vijay Raghavan (former director of NCBS and also former principal scientific advisor to the Govt. of India) 2) Satyajit Mayor (faculty at NCBS)- studies transport of material inside cells using imaging microscopy 3) Mukund Thattai (faculty at NCBS) works on computational approaches to study cells
One suggestion, include some visual in post-production for viewer to see. For example, DNA structure, black tiger stripes etc. brilliant stuff though! Thank you
Biswa, please get Prof P Balaram for your show. He's currently in NCBS. I think Shashi will definitely know him...anyone in Indian academia knows him. Please get him...he's the one person you wanna hear speaking
Biswa bhaisaab. Please find a way to add images and animations of whatever is being spoken to make it more informative and interactive. Aur bhadiya rahega. Thank you for taking the path of science education in India. Dil khush. 🍻
This was needed, while there are science shows and podcasts, the format and presentation here makes a difference! Looking forward to more amazing variety of episodes.
32:50 This is an amazing point. A lot of biology and neurological stuff starts at when things go wrong. When something goes wrong and something changes gives, it's gives them the idea that these things are connected. Dr VS Ramachandran has a book called that talks about numerous such topics related to the brain. The book is named ' Phantoms in the Brain'.
Yes, i watched a podcast where this book was recommended by software developer and Zerodha CTO, Kailash Nadh. It unfolds many age-old mysteries and takes one on a journey of the various inner workings of the brain albeit in layman's terms and includes anecdotal evidence. 🧠
Love these videos Biswa, gaining science knowledge from the people in their respective fields is just brilliant. I would really appreciate if u add subtitles to it. As I want to play it on a bigger screen. Subtitles helps everyone in the room to understand.
21:58 Another way to think about DNA vs Genome is: DNA is a *type* of biological molecule, just like carbohydrate, fat, and protein. All of these biological molecules have different building blocks that come together to make that type - amino acids for proteins, lipids for fat, etc. The A,C,G,T "letters" or "bases" are building blocks for DNA. Any combination of them is DNA. 'Genome' is the word used to represent all of the DNA that a species has. So there is human genome, tiger genome, etc. All of the cells in our body have a copy of this genome. I.e. most of the cells in the human body will have a copy of the human genome .
Absolutely loved this one! This conversation reminded me of the nostalgic thrill I felt when I saw a tiger for the first time in my life and how majestic it looked... Can you please get someone from a space organization and discuss complex astronomical concepts..
Thanks Biswa for bringing these amazing Scientists to our screens. Dr Uma was patient and amazing in explaining the concepts learnt so much. Love your lil banter on the side with Dr Shashi. Waiting for many more episodes ❤
Great series. Please make short videos from within the video where you can. That will increase the much needed engagement on these videos which it deserves. The target audience of this series is all stuck in shorts.
1:19:50 already exists. North America allows hunting of moose and deers which graze away the grasslands. Similarly, Australia allows hunting kangaroos because they're a nuisance. Great episode btw.
I just discovered this today. The guests really sweat it out. I love how he is deliberately forcing them to simplify it for the listeners. I listen to Lex Fridman, and I see this podcast going to that level. Biswas examples are killer hahahaha
Biswa, great show, thank you! From Astronomy i could suggest a few names: Varun Bhalerao, Shriharsh Tendulkar, and Dipankar Bannerjee among many others.
Are there Indian scientists working on climate modeling or understanding global warming in indian context ? We had a really hot summer, is it related ?
Dont think there are many comedians/writers who can hold such a hi-funda conversation. BC/MC/L/C sab bolna easy hee - guy from jhumritalaya can also do that
Is there a possibility of microbial induction of these natural mutations...like gut bacteria inducing the black gene in tigre may be because of some disease or environmental selection?

This is the first time someone has made biology interesting to me. Thanks Biswa, Shashi & Uma
Great episode Biswa! Get Prof. Gadakar from CES, IISc on one of your next episodes :)
Science, comedy and friendly conversations. What a combination. Loving this series.
Bhaiya show bohat sahi hai, continue karo. Iske unlimited season chalne do. Kumar varun bhaiya ko bhi lao.

Suggestion, kindly add animation while explaining concepts it will be much easier for the viewers to understand
Great episode ❤
“ Science is a social process “ woww. How good this line is.

Fantastic episode! Prof Uma’s enthusiasm for her work is infectious!
I love how much professor UMA expresses her love Towards tiger in her way of talking show how much she enjoyed her work and loves to talk about it.

Lovely episode! Guest and Book recommendation- The Gene and The Song of the cell by Siddhartha Mukherjee
Biodiverse Biswa

A very apt description 👌👌
Thank you!
Absolutely loved this one! This conversation reminded me of the nostalgic thrill I felt when I saw a tiger for the first time in my life and how majestic it looked...
Can you please get someone from a space organization and discuss complex astronomical concepts..
Biswa bhai please continue this series...
Amazing series. Fun and informative. 💯
Thanks Biswa for bringing these amazing Scientists to our screens. Dr Uma was patient and amazing in explaining the concepts learnt so much. Love your lil banter on the side with Dr Shashi. Waiting for many more episodes ❤
Try to bring - i) Prof. Ashoke Sen, ii) Prof. Mohit K. Jolly, and iii) scientists from North-East India
Great series. Please make short videos from within the video where you can. That will increase the much needed engagement on these videos which it deserves. The target audience of this series is all stuck in shorts.
Excellent episode!! Thank you Biswa and Shashi for this series. Please keep this going. Guest recommendation : Prof. Manu Prakash (Stanford)
Brooo..the number of times Biswa asked about DNA...Had I asked my teachers that many times I am pretty sure they would have smacked my ass
Great episode, once again! Keep up the amazing work, Biswa and Shahi sir. Prof. N G Prasad, IISER Mohali would be my suggestion.

Thank you for asking questions no matter how basic you think it is, Biswa. 🧡
I'm not a scientist but It definitely feels like there is some issue with rapid urbanization i.e. urbanization without proper future planning
The last 10 mins were extremely interesting
Biswa, if u want ur show to become super hit, stop being nice to ur guests. Ask ruthless question. Bring them to the brink of say "that I don't know".
And then nobody wants to talk to Biswa😂...
Love you Biswa for this❤
Biswa awesome!
Can u get someone related to astronomy
Why she looks like every other Social Teacher.
❤
6:58 If she is the first Guest ,then why is she in the 3rd episode?
39:04 Basically, "Aye tatti, tera naam kya hai?" 😅
For the algorithm ✊🏾
Cfbrrrrr

You get educated without knowing here only
Hey Biswa, kaisa hai?
Someone related to climate change please!
Biswa bhai tu baal colour kyu nahi karta?? Mai bhi kabhi nahi kiya, merko chupana nahi tha!
Biswa is not comedian. Bro is scientist enthusiast at core, comedy is his side job.😅
algorithm
Weakest of the 4 shows.. I like how Bishwa was trying to break it down what DNA is and I am not sure it was properly boiled down and you lost me there
cfbr
Standup kb aayga Biswa bhai
Rubbish
