But this Eurobasket (and the game vs Australia at the last Olympics) have proven that I am 100% right. Doncic's impact on Slovenia is not related only to his scoring but also to the scoring of his team mates. Luka always draws a lot of attention from the opposing defence and he is excellent in serving his open teammates with excellent passes. I am sorry to say this but Slovenia without Luka is not even a top 8 team in Europe right now. After all there must be a reason if they did not qualify at the 2019 WC and if they were at risk for the 2023 WC before the summer windows where Luka played

    First of all: Slovenia didn't deserve to win (saying that as a hardcore Slovenian basketball fan), it was a clear foul on Prepelić but a team so superior "on the paper" should not rely on last desperate shot from half court to tie the game or even hoping that European second league judges will see that .
    Good game Poland and good luck in Semis.
    And all rant about Luka: sure, he has still so many weaknesses, but that's actually a good news. Just imagine Luka improving his:
    - behaviour on the court (off the court, they say, he's already a nice, shy, half grown man),
    - athleticism, physical condition and off season body treatment,
    - free shooting percentage,
    - 3 point shooting percentage,
    Because we forget that he's 23, not even close to his best basketball years.
    Well honestly speaking, I don't. It will be unfair to everybody else and something too close to perfection.

      @@adebih8126 Stupid was the Polish defender, Prepelić was wise. Sure he didn't want to have a shot from half court with still 5 seconds left, but once Polish defender fouled him, he faked the shot. That's legal in basketball and it's called continuity of the action and yes it's 3 free throws. But hey, as I said, Poland won fair and square. I do not blame the judges who were equally bad for both sides. Otherwise, poor quality of the game. Maybe fun to watch, Ponitka out of this world.

      As a Slovenian I agree with you, not only not in Top 8, Slovenia without Doncic can hardly qualify for anything, these are all mediocre players for a minor league, except Dragon who is left without a motivation, do you think that after having a house in Miami and here and there, these guys show "guts and glory" for their country? Once their belly is stuffed, that's it. And all these countries can never be Yugoslavia in basketball, because there there were also extraterrestrial coaches and YU as a team was the magnificent machine. They can all play for their banana republics they will never have that constant success as YU had. It is one thing winning something and then be 20 years second grade, and completely other as YU was, the constant top country in basketball.

    Coach Sekulić left at home at least 2 better players than Samar and Rupnik are. While Samar can play good defense Rupnik is useless both ways. Should have brought with Hrovat and Čebašek. After the injury of Zoran Dragić that was all too obvious. Tobey with bad ankle just as Luka was + some other injuries Dončić had from all the beatings. The start of the game was too soft though from Slovenia so it was not on Poland quality which was shown in 3rd quarter. The bench was too short at the end.

    • @cementary
      @cementary 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, but it looks legit. You've entered court with one foot already, second foot in the air. If you stepped outside of the line with one foot with the ball in your hands it would be violation. He is outside of non playable area when he gets bounced ball back. That's my interpretation.

    Someone should count how many times Luka fell to the ground this game. It’s unbelievable how this guy is trying to get a call every time even though there is no contact, he is still trying to get the call by falling down to the ground and then when the refs don’t call it he gets upset. Try to score the bucket, not focus on getting the call and flopping and falling to the ground, like Polish players are just standing around him not even making any movement towards him and he still falls, this is not basketball in my opinion it’s acting which is ruining the viewing and experience and honestly lowering the chances of his team to win .
    This of course is my opinion, I am not trying to hate on Luka, I like him as a person but sometimes he is just annoying to watch and sometimes he is amazing to watch. This game he was the bad version of himself.
