- Episode 3 | Sadly with the imminent death of Mario Maker 1 coming in April of 2024, there are many levels I haven't yet had the chance to play...including some of the best in the game! So in today's video I'm going to be playing the 1 Year Mario Maker celebration levels (mariomaker.phgi..., which are regarded as some of the best levels you can play in Mario Maker 1!

Troll levels must have abused his brain too much so now he struggles with simple puzzle levels

That first "Pause For Effect" is super cool, I love it when there are games that can take a long time to compete but it only takes a long time to complete became of your lack of knowledge on how to complete it, it makes more playthroughs almost usless but there is nothing like the feeling of completing it the first time and realizing that the answer was right next to you from the beginning, truly unique way of making a game.
That pause level would be a rare time that a level viewer ruins it. What a cool level!
This level is giving me serious doubts about Dave's 171 IQ...

Watching DGR is quite like watching Dora the Explorer in a number of ways lol
That first level felt a lot like one of those tests they gave us in elementary school that has about 800 instructions on it, and at the end the last instruction says "now that you've read the whole test, only follow instructions 3 and 7, and hand it in."

Also, having to ask chat for the solutions. Why not just give chat the controller like in Twitch plays Dark Souls?
Also, if most of chat can figure out the solution, that just makes it worse. Chat should be hosting the stream!

It was cool but insanely long. It was half the video.
I've learned to use the double tap to jump 5 seconds forward every time Dave dies and it usually picks up about right where he left off. And a little skipping around in that level definitely helped make it seem shorter! Watching him stream a level like that and how long it would take would be kind of painful. It's a lot more fun to play when it takes that long than it is to watch.
This is such a creative level! Pausing to progress through! Bravo to the creator!
hey dave, the guy who made pause for effect also made another really cool level you might've heard of called Why are you stealing from ruins, you should check it out
I remember seeing Carl play that level. It was solid.
Really cool level design.
But Dave after 2 seconds of looking at the clue: "I give up let me read chat for the answer while complaining that it doesn't make sense."
Maybe because it doesn't?
Episodes like this really display just how much of a dingus Dave really is.
I have trouble with these episodes.. like.. am i missing something or are these kinda.. sorta... maybe.. politelyyy easy puzzles?
It’s so painful watching Dave play that first level. The clues are super obvious and he just doesn’t comprehend. I swear his 171 IQ was measured by one of those post people share on Facebook.

Not just you; I was confused af. I’m also willing to bet a bunch of the people claiming it was super obvious were lost, too. Cause there’s nothing so validating as claiming superiority in a space where nobody can prove you wrong.
Thanks for taking the time to play these insane levels so people like me (who have zero patience for this sort of thing) can enjoy them! And I also appreciate that you don't spew cuss words throughout. Your levelheadedness and skills make this very enjoyable and make me want to keep coming back for more!

Pause for Effect might very well be the FIRST "modern" troll level, only with extremely benevolent creator.

6 is a pretty common number of USB ports. And if you need more, surely you can use a hub

Dave, I don't know if anyone mentioned this...but they sell USB Hubs that allow you to turn one port into like 4 or more.

How many devices do have to have plugged in USB for streaming? I have never done it but my tower only has 4 (6 I guess if you count the dedicated ones that are for keyboard and mouse) and I've never used more than 2, one for a SNES style controller and one for headphones.

honestly mm1 was an amazing game as well as all wii u games, just a shame me and a couple thousand others got screwed by buying all wii u games that switch would just make completly useless and then not afford switch. lol

Dave complaining about having only 6 USB ports. You know you can buy USB hubs, right? Add more ports? It's what I do. Even a shitty cheap 2.0 hub will do for your simple devices (keyboards, mouses, etc.) so they all can fit in a single port, and plug anything that needs high speed (external hard drives, and capture devices) into the remaining 5. And if that's not enough, then get a 3.0 hub (but don't get it from a cheap supplier, I made that mistake myself, my 3.0 hub has 4 ports, but three of them are 2.0 in disguise). It would certainly save you the pain of device swapping and having to remember to plug it in, and forgetting until 3 hours into a stream that your camera's not plugged in.
get an expansion card for your computer so that you can have more usb ports on it

Supposedly, the first level makes sense, somehow. Can anyone try to explain that one to me?
The main mechanic of the level is hint rooms where you're supposed to pause the game at a certain time. When moving objects line up in the correct way, some other moving object will reveal the location of a hidden block that lets you progress.
