- Working at our fully equipped workshop in Kent we carry out tasks including Panel beating, Body work, Mig Welding, Sheet metal Spot Welding, Fabrication, Chassis Repairs, Sand Blasting, Engine and Mechanical repairs, Reconditioning, Restoration and Structural repairs on the Celette Jig Dozer frame machine.

This channel is a real inspiration for me . My car bumper got dented badly yesterday and reverse light damaged as well.After seeing lot of your rebuild ,this seemed nothing to me . I popped the dent out using hot water and now I am looking for replacing the lights and gonna try rubbing the scratches off.thanks again and keep up your good work Rob :)

High miles but not when you consider it's 16 years old. About average I'd say. And with belt done and seems well serviced it go another 100k
The 1.9 TDI engine prior to 2005 is the best by far - the A prefix engine (ATDxxxxetc) used Bosch injection parts, didn't use the "cracked" and fault prone con-rods and didn't have a DPF to clog up - best of the lot.
nearly 40,000 people have just spent 14 minutes watching a bloke change a door on an old diesel golf. think about that for a minute.

Hi Rob,I thought that door wouldn't fit because of the hinges,but it fits perfectly,a few paint touches and it will look smart again.

Use one of these as my daily , 1.9 tdi 07 plate GT with 140k on, I’m sure it is and 1.9 , and I get unbelievable fuel economy. Managed to get 50mpg on the doors so motorway must be some what amazing ! Better than my modern merc complete different motors but shows something.
Time less motors , unbelievable to drive.

Tough old beast. Got an Octavia with a 90bhp ALH engine currently on 216k. Still a 62mpg car brim to brim on a clear 450+ mile run

Some lucky person will enjoy the Golf for a few more years once you flip it. Pity about not getting a correct door colour, it'll take a bit longer now. Nevertheless a great car. Good luck at the dentist!!
Might be worth (if not too late) checking the window goes up and down correctly on that new door before respraying, the door skin has to come off in order to replace the Regulator and they are more than common to break on Golfs , I had the drivers side replaced before I bought mine.. the last owner got a nice £300 bill 😂 would be a shame to paint it up only to have a faulty mechanism . Look forward to the finished result 👍🏼

That passenger door looks perfect apart from being the wrong colour. Personally I’d have the rest of the car repainted same silver as the new door, as I prefer that colour, but understand why you won’t do that

For the purposes of their business, it would definitely be way too expensive to repaint the whole car silver rather than paint the door the same colour as the rest of the car.

If a car has excellent service history, it's at least half the deal (for me). High mileage is not that bad imho.
Cracking car that vw love the golfs had a couple one of the best cars i have owned along with the passat great cars that little honda moves like a rocket then realised it was time lapse rather you than me at the dentist

10:43 doesn't look like the trim in the middle of the door matches up to the rear quarter trim Rob... double check that bud. Might be lighting on camera.
I think it's the colour as the window seal matches up. Even so a little wear and tear has to be expected on a 173k mile car so doubt that would put anyone off!
@@George-nv1ri Rubber trim drys out/ flexes about over time. I'd judge it off that trim panel tbh not the rubber. Also car's mileage doesn't effect the panel gaps/fitment etc.
@@deanishere7237 no but you'd expect a car of higher mileage to have a few bashes/scrapes lose trim etc
Been to a local Wilsons, all the staff walk around in suits with sticks up their arse, it's a disposal auction not Sotherbys. Puts a lot of people off dealing with them. I remember they had some criminals Prada speedos and some bloke paid about £25 for them.

The car parts are cheap for these, and the mileage is no worry if it is looked after. My 2.0tdi GT has 150k miles and drives like a peach. Regular servicing pays off. I change my oil every 8k miles and the way I see it it's cheaper than an engine or cheaper than getting a new car.

I owned one of these for 9 years. It was a good car apart from various rust issues that I had to fight vw to get them to fix it. Did you check the inner lip of the bottom of the door for rust?

I want to ask do you guys set yourself a goal of what you both want to earn per month ? As in. Say for this month my goal is to make 3,000 euro this month. I normally earn about 1800 to 2350 from fixing and reselling cars not including my full time job Hope it’s not too personal of a question thanks mate
