I def felt like Alina's story went too fast. Ther3 wasnt much time at the Little Palace & getting to know the Grisha levels, and her relationship growth with the Darkling. But it is what it is. Still enjoyed it
She was in the little palace for months. It's was said once or twice. It was just speed up. (Cause otherwise the story would get boring and slot i guess). And in the book the insta love between darklina was also really fast. Didn't like it. But then again. The Darkling did want to get Alina on his side and manipulate her. So it isn't strange he would "fall in love"with her just to manipulate her (in the books he was not so much "inlove" with he as in the show)
Ikr like when she caught with Zoya, in the book they had known each other for months and grew a hate for eachother as for in the show it was like she had been there for a day or two and then faught Zoya?....yrah
Exactly , there where things missing , ofc the much needed wanting makes us weak But also when genya kicks zoya out of her room to show off Alina wearing black , the darklings color But also also we are missing more scenes when Alina was on the run because a part of the books is just her going from town to town And while I am a darklina fan I think Mal and Alina’s kids should have been added
I hadn't read the books but I know people who really loved Six of Crows and knew about the Crows through osmosis. So when I see this preview for Shadow and Bone having no idea what it is, THEN I see Kaz, Inej, and Jesper standing there at the end of episode 1, i'm like "Wait! Is that.. THEM! THAT'S UNCANNY!!!" and then I binged the heck out of that show
Is that so ? I do not remember that. He was always addressed as Darkling wasn't he ? It was in the final book that he told his real name to Alina but in show it was rather quick.
4:44 Actually in Rule of Wolves chapter 21 it is mentioned that one of the names he used was Kirigan (among many others). It is never specified what name he uses during the Shadow and Bone trilogy, so the show-runners were more or less free to call him whatever, so kudos to the writers for actually choosing one of the canon names.
@@ApequH I'd guess because if people knew who that would be, and the first design that was meant to be used, some might have started arguing that "it'd be better if it stayed like that, changing it was a mistake!". Or maybe it was revealing, not suiting the character in this way? As much as it makes me curious, I think I wouldn't want to know
I don't entirely agree with his explanation about the number of episodes. To stick with 8 instead of 10 to have more budget per episode I understand, but to then say they had a lot of world building to do 😕 world building takes time, unless you have someone narrating a resume at the beginning.
I honestly think the show was much better then books. The books were really short, like really really short. A did not liked any of the characters and it was too much young adults logic... beh. The show is still young adult fantasy, but main characters have some soul and developed characteristics...
Milo carried the whole show 😼😭🐐💗
“Everyone tuned in to see the magic”
No darling, we tuned in to see the Crows
Exactly

And yes, they should have explained the Grisha levels better

"Gone are the days of 23 episodes." True.

Not me watching the "ben barnes" videos after binge watching Shadow and Bone on netflix...
Absolutely not , why would you thing that I have become a full simp Stan for him after shadow and bone
Fun fact Ben Barnes makes you want to click the video 100x more than you normally would
Was actually happy how it went. Love the book love the show and the cast❤️❤️❤️
No they didn't change his name. He name was general kirigan in the books as well. There was thus whole mystery around him nobody knew he was darkling.
Is that so ? I do not remember that. He was always addressed as Darkling wasn't he ? It was in the final book that he told his real name to Alina but in show it was rather quick.
@@annkuthakur564 He had many names during his lifetime, Kirigan was one of them.
@@rosyi9695 ah okay. I don't remember it being in the books. Read them a long time ago.
@@annkuthakur564 it was mentioned in Rule of Wolves, sorry if it came out as a spoiler if you haven't read it!
@@rosyi9695 oh shoot. See I have not read that yet. But I don't mind the spoiler. Thanks for the head up though😂😂
I was expecting more Russian vibes on the places tho, but aside from that I think it was wonderfully done
Only Ravka was based on It, I believe.

1:23 and this is why this is a good serie made from the book cuz she participated in the production. Take that.
Don't you love it when you can immediately tell the person talking clearly hasn't even seen the show, much less read the books? 🙄
Lol "Everyone was turning in to see the magic-"
Nah I was here for Kanej
His name was General Kirigan in the books too 🙄
I loved Shadow and Bone. I can't wait for another season.
I would have liked more episodes
it was mainly for the cost. it takes a lot of money for all the CGI and just everything about the show
I'm super curious now what original costume design the author vetoed
Me too! Why leave that out?

I love this show so much now 🥰
same. never felt this way about a show before 😭
All hail SanktaMilo
😂😂🙇♀️
👐
The Goat Grisha! Yes!
I can't fathom how in the world you still can't pronounce Kirigan. It's said like 12000 times in the show.
Clearly, he's never seen it.
Seriously
Who was the costume for tho? Does anyone know? If I had to guess it would be Inej
Ben barnes the unicorn 🖤

Why does he keep saying Hollywood? This was shot in Europe with a mostly British cast
miloooooo
I thought it went to fast
I'm sorry I feel like I have to say this, in the beginning, it's not a goat, it's a sheep. :)

I liked the show but couldn’t get into the relationship between Alina and the Darkling. There was no buildup to it. That disappointed me.
