It’s just insane to think how film making and photos were made at the time I still think film making and photography are the greatest inventions we ever made because it’s proof this happened, someone made this years ago and nowadays it can still be seen

Future western icon John Wayne made his debut as a Bushman football double 17, at 52:32 he is seen on the right hand side holding the football.

With the right material and a supporting role, Jack Pickford was a joy to watch.

Yes, he was, and the way his career is viewed is really quite wrong. It's always assumed he got his fame through Mary, but if you look through fan magazines etc from the late 1920s in particular, he was immensely popular, and not the kind of "second rate" star people think of him now. He was huge back then - but, alas, history is written by the victors, as they say.

The film was released in 1926, however, in 1924 The Dickey Club merged with The Hasty Pudding Club.

Fantastic film. Silent yet brilliantly acted. As Norma Desmond said we didn’t need voices we had faces!!! In 2023 I can enjoy a film made in 1926 more than a lot of the garbage churned out today.

      I agree Ian 👍 💯!!
This film really pulled me in , and I'm not a football fan, AND it was a SILENT film !
I believe this film made Haines a star. He was very charismatic and a great funny guy.
If you liked him in this film, you'll like him in "THE SMART SET" He's a polo player in that one !
