His arc hurts every time I watch it. It was painful in the novels, too, but at least in the novel Song Lan takes the remains of XXC soul, and the narration points out that, with time and care, it may be restored. But both are so painful :( I love him so much.
Why can't gay couples just live happily with their adopted children in this show? Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan were meant to live happily ever after with their daughter A Qing just like Wei Wuixan and Lan Zhan were meant to raise their son Yuan together. Let my guys parent 😭😭😭
