Oddly with all of my time out camping I have never seen a banana slug. Jim has seen plenty! Ohhh Brad’s sashimi 🥰 Glass Beach & the train bike have been on my list!

Brad loved that pokè bowl, he’s still talking about it! 😁 We’re going to have to go back some day to do the rail bikes! Can’t believe you haven’t seen a banana slug!!

We’re sad we didn’t know about it sooner! It’s a bit spendy but such a unique adventure and with your own guide. Hope to do it some day!

We love McKerricher! It is one of the best campgrounds. We actually honeymooned across from the Trestle bridge almost 45 years ago!! Love the skunk train. So sad that the tunnel collapsed and you can’t go all the way to the half point or even to Willits anymore. Those tide pools are the best. This video made us homesick for Northern CA. Thanks for sharing!

Aww, what wonderful memories you have from this area! Happy we could help you reminisce 💓 Those are definitely some of the best tide pools!

We so, so interested in the tide-pools. Did you find any mussels or purple urchins?
    The seal population was epic.
What power station did you guys chose?

The tide pools were fantastic, I think we saw a little of everything! Definitely loads of purple urchins which sadly are invasive and destroying the kelp forests!! We have a RockPals battery pack and it’s served us very well 👍👍

@@WanderlandTravelers we've been watching catch & cook vids lately. The purple urchins are unlimited catch because of the invasion. We would love to a little sea-side foraging & those seem like an easy win.

Getting to Fort Bragg from Highway 101 can be a challenge for those of us towing a camper. Which route did you guys take? I've never tried it.
FYI: North Coast Brewing is right around where you are. Great beer. Check it out!
Last but not least, if heading north spend a night or two at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in Humboldt County. The oldest redwood trees in world are around there. You won't be disappointed.

We have been working our way up the coast along Highway 1. Our travel trailer is 24’ long (hitch to bumper). Brad was comfortable doing the drive (I personally wouldn’t have wanted to be behind the wheel). We don’t recommend highway 1 for trailers much longer than ours as there are some tight curves. We’ve heard that Highway 20 over from the 101 is a fairly main route which can accommodate semi trucks, but it’s incredible winding (we have not personally driven that route). We love breweries! Instead of north coast we opted to try Overtime Brewing to avoid the crowds, we enjoyed it! Definitely going to see some redwoods on this journey ❤️ be well!
