Wicked man, really well explained and demonstrated and done at a level so that you talk through not only what you do, but how and why you're doing it. SO MANY "tutorials" just rush through saying "you ned to do this and this" and just click away on things without any explanation of what's being done. What, how, and why, I think should be the 3 key points in any teaching technique. Lots of other "tutors" could learn from you.
Wait is there a way to control a filter or setting or effect directly on the synth, and record the change to the setting to the midi and make it so it's frozen with the filter going up and down? Or is automation the sole way to make these effects permanent on a track? I'm super new to programming stuff, long time musician guitar and all but woodwinds. But this topic is one of those things somewhat difficult for me to research because the things I'm talking about are hard to define in a searchable way. I don't know the associated terms. Closest thing I could think of is like punch in effects on my pocket operators but making them stick lol
But also thanks this was life changing I've been trying to figure out how to make bass lines that sweep (perfect example is sonic frontiers, transparent highway bass sound during the chorus
Sorry that’s studio one, lol The perils of running multiple DAWs Protools also has the touch, latch, read, write modes I could have just deleted the question but then I thought it is interesting to see have various DAWs handle the task
Ableton should get their act together. They have lost it with the latest version. Everybody had a hard time. We get it. But we all pay the same upgrade pricing again and again and we cant even do some basics right. How to rename a track including all clips in a track using 1 keyboard command and 1 x typing ? Cant do it. They add this select all clips feature in arrangement ( right click select all clips of current track ) No shortcut. not in a menu. Only accessible using right click of a mouse. The Ableton devs need a basic User Interaction Course before they move on. I love Ableton and have been using it since version 3. But Ableton UX in arrangement is a mess. Here is an idea. whenever you rename a track you can add a shift key so it will include the track and all track clips. Done. 1 extra key. Saves 10 keystrokes. 100 times a day. welcome😆
12 minutes to explain something that should work as expected without any explanation for everyone that has basic daw / automation experience. And reads right to left😆
oh look you just wanted to show automation on one device and one track, but nope now you have all the tracks automation showing. oh and you need to disable it to show fing fades? Now i remember why i stopped using Live after 9. 10 and 11 is horse shit. Seems that the devs know what workflow is best for you. I get bouncing all the automation down , can spring new creative ideas and such, but f them for forcing that on me. Really despise this in 10 and 11. really do.
Just came here to say that your videos have been extremely helpful in my learning process. Thank you so much!

Glad you like them!
Man! You should have your own, Ableton Live University! Pure genius!
The real is back. 🥰

a tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Ruben Gannon Yup, have been watching on Flixzone for months myself =)
@Ruben Gannon yea, have been watching on flixzone for since november myself =)
whoah, 10 videos at once
Would you be able to automate a tracks BPM? Lets say the first track starts at 138 but you would want it to gradually reach 145 or vice versa?
Yes mate you can, I should remake this video where I show that actually. Thanks for bringing that up.
you would automate the tempo in the master from 138 and glide it up to 145
… thank you … excellent tutorials … much appreciated !

Thanks for these great tutorials!
Is there some setting I need to toggle to record automation? Ableton overwrites the audio when I try to record it.
I should have demonstrated how to record automation, good question. I'll update the video and reply to you here once it's updated.
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic That's awesome, thanks man.
Did that update come out yet
Really really helpful! Thankyou.
hey my dude, it's been a min since I've been on your channel, but do you plan on making any updates with Ableton 12 on its way?
Hello!! yeah I'll be pushing out Ableton 12 content. Cheers for your support!
Another quality tutorial :)
Great!!!
Thank you.
Cheers
No more little hand? Or touch, latch, ect.. options?
Sorry that’s studio one, lol

very nice video. Thank you
Thank you
SKIP TO 1:55 to get to the point
Thanks a lot dude 3h i'm in rage cause that 😭
I just show a lane for 'Device On.' I don't show lanes for automation for anything else.
Automations and modulations are exactly the same but with advanced options
No they aren't.
Watch my video here for an explanation, skip to 12:30 - th-cam.com/video/U_4UW-PROh0/w-d-xo.html
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic Will do.Im switching to MInt Osx so il be needing guide ^_^

think your reaction fits better on a offical Ableton TH-cam channel tbh. So they might exactly read it. But fair
@@rachidow2125 Doesnt work haha. Public comments can be more effective. The latest beta finally has some improvements in this area. So nice!
