Hi, it looked so beautiful from the outside and a mess inside, if I wasn't going to use it for its original purpose I would use the nice box to build something else and not waste time restoring the horror inside. It's pretty big, but if I had as much space as you do, I'd build a signal tracer with an injector and a test amp in that box, but that's just a momentary idea. I am not a supporter of the violent disposal of old things, but interventions have already been made in this area. Nice day 🙂 Tom
Funny that the internal VFO is transistor(s) but the external one is tube based. I wonder if the external one was a product used with other transceivers. Also regarding the soldered tube sockets: if you solder them all around you end up with solder inside the sockets and the tube will no longer fit that nicely :) I like your videos and admire your patience! 73's de PA0PBZ
have you seen the FM mod ? see the switch inside :-) i think the video dont reveal all places with too much corrosion, all parts must be replaced, it is a total rebuild for this one to be nice / working again.
Nice video, thank's Thomas

it is nicely in the hands of a collector now :-)
@@TeardownOZ2CPU If it's in the collection, then it's clear - repair it, or at least preserve it.

thanks a lot for comments, much more tube and transistor equipment is planned and in que :-)
I have seen much worse. That, IMHO, is not all that terribly bad. So hang in there. The fact that is 2M AM - ouch.
