    • @IanHubert2
      @IanHubert2  4 ปีที่แล้ว +231

      @@Mocorn Hahaha, yeah- these more complex tuts definitely take longer than a few minutes to make. That said, there's usually a degree of effort that you can put in, too- like, you COULD just slap the texture onto some cubes and call it done in 2 minutes, and it'd get the point across, but IMO it's a lot more rewarding to take a while and make sure everything's projecting nicely.

    "So most complex stuff can be abstracted if you get the form and texture anywhere close to right"
    These words seriously changed how I work as a 3D artist, when I first heard them in 2019, it really made me stop and rethink how I work in Blender, and ever since I've been able to achieve much better results, in a fraction of the time. Really is a powerful idea once you realise you don't have to recreate everything to an infinite level of detail to make it look good, you just gotta make it 'look right'. Like a painting, you can make something look like a leaf with a single brush stroke if you get the shape and colour right, you don't have to mechanically recreate everything bit by bit.

      meh. waste of precious time. nobody would even give a damn about those micro details when they'd show it out to the audience. bruh i mean who cares if the stone cracks you make are heavily detailed? no audience will stick their face too close to the screen just to admire those "crack details". have you ever seen one person in the cinema approach the big screen too close and pop their eye out just to see the unoticable detail you made? have you ever seen a gamer stick his eye on the screen just to see the unoticable detail you made? im complete beginner too and but i understand hubert more. hubert aims for simplicity while guru aims for details no audience gives a damn about. he just wastin' the newbie blender user's time on unnecessary and unoticable details cuz he likes to do things manualy instead of making efficient beginner shortcuts and quick illusions like what hubert does.
