I asked for a black rosary for Christmas after the Potential Breakup Song video came out. 😂 Found it stashed away in a bathroom cabinet at my parents’ house recently, and honestly I’ll probably wear it again.

I love the early 2000s fashion. i felt like it let young people actually dress fun and wholesome... where now young people always look 25 years old + with heavy beat faces and the same kardasian ish look lol..

I personally still really like their style from the mid to late 2000's. I think my favorite was the look with the patched skirts at 1:29. Looking at the look before that with them at the Tiger Cruise premiere, I remember being obsessed with AJ's cross necklace. Still think it's really pretty. I mean I get where they're coming from with their critiques. I cringe at some of the stuff I've worn in my teen years especially this skull hoodie cause I went through this goth phase that I kinda regret but I still like their style of clothing and also still like the emo, punk rock look which is why I still really like Aly & AJ's style from the earlier days.

I’m laughing so hard at the fact that they keep bringing up how much makeup they’re wearing because my mom specifically made me take down a poster I had of ally and aj on my bedroom wall from a teen beat magazine cuz my mom said they were wearing too much makeup for teenage girls and she didn’t want me to idolize them 😂😂 I was so mad and thought it was so stupid but it’s just so funny to hear them low key agree with my mom so many years later lol!

This criticism only comes from people who are so obsessed with the 90s. 90s fashion was just so bland and boring. I can totally see us returning to the 2000s aesthetic within the post-pandemic era. Bring it back!

Edit: I was going to mention, I miss the random accessories like the fingerless gloves and skinny scarves and things in the hair like feathers, flowers, and bows. And the fun belts of course. And layered necklaces. And all the different niches of style.
While in the early 2000's I hated the style (i.e it definitely was tacky and bad). It only looked good in music videos or tv shows, but it's definitely the worst era in fashion lol especially when you get to 2008. However, I love the resurgence of y2k fashion (it's already been brought back especially during the height of the pandemic) because it took all the cutest elements of the era and made it accessible to the average (mostly) woman. Now I can enjoy y2k and romanticize it but also recognize that yeah, it really was that bad
