Have you thought about doing some videos on specific strategies (i.e., rapid swordmaster/high council seat, gaining intrigue cards, when to hold back troops, etc.)?
I appreciate that you are not always going for the obvious plays. It is very interesting to see how your desicion making is different from mine and then to see the difference it makes in the end game.
The biggest ones are not playing diplomacy in round 1 and going for CHOAM over Kwisatz Haderach since you already had the ability to trash cards with guild admin. My choice would have been to pick up Kwisatz and trash trash trash in order to draw it more often in late game. I also have the tendency to hoard spice so it was refreshing to see you do well with very little spice.
Yeah, hurts not to play the Diplomacy but Round 1 Sell Melange for 8 is one of my favourite things to do since it's not something you can usually do. Kwisatz Haderach could well have been the better choice, but thinking about the numbers.. Directorship is like playing four Diplomacies in a row for free. I'd have to draw the Kwisatz Haderach four times to equal that.
Hi! It can be, because it makes it hard for someone to overtake you. On the other hand, it can be inefficient in terms of getting from the other factions, and sometimes you still want to visit the faction spaces where you're already maxed out and you waste influence. It's better for Beast than for the other leaders because his Signet Ring gets stronger if you have an Alliance.

Funny you should ask...

I'd be curious to hear about some of the moves that surprised you!

im new to the game, do you think rushing an alliance with a faction is a good opening strategy? and why?
