My vote goes to Hot Wheels for not having the opening hood. As you mentioned, we display a 1/64 die-cast mostly without opening their moving parts even they have one. The Tomica opening hood gives a huge gap on the panel line of the hood, which is an eye sore to me. Oh, and thumbs up to HW for giving it the side mirrors!!
You forgot to point out that hotwheels was able to do the 'Type R' writing because the upper grill where the Honda logo is doesnt exist. Unlike Tomica, where they fully modeled the grill.
The way I see it, unless hot wheels isn't making a particular car model I'm sticking with hot wheels. They are affordable look even better at times despite the doors not opening, although their are models that do.

sorry for the breaking news but the honda civic type r fk8 (the current one) is going to be in tomica this june and also the lexus lfa is coming to tomica premium this july
Whenever i see the new civic, its a hard debate whether the tomica or hot wheels did it better but the tomica's only thing left is to make a premium version of it then it might be a different class
I have the Hot Wheels and Tarmac Works Type Rs but not the Tomica (yet!). I wrote up a comparison of the Hot Wheels and Tarmac Works and while the TW is obviously much better, the HW punches above its weight. Especially at its $1 price point here in the US. I'm not surprised that it compares well to the more expensive Tomica too.
both are cool... HW looks ´cleaner´ but the tomica has more and sharper details. HW lights are better too... then, looking at the price, i think HW is the winner here despite the lack of an opening bonnet

Honestly, i would rather go for the Tomica one, cos the headlights somewhat looks more smooth when you look at it as a whole on the tomica. Hot Wheels, kudos to them for those extra fine details, but on the Civic, i think it doesnt come in as smoothly as the one Tomica has, so yeah, Tomica will take this one. That being said, both are awesome castings! And if price wasn't an issue, i would have gone for both

People are expecting this car to shoot up in price much like its previous generation fd2r. I also heard that there is gonna be a new release of the FK8 for tomica this upcoming 2018. Hope Hotwheels does the same as well... I still prefer the tomica's version since it's more boxy. I like it more boxy haha.

Just include in your criteria how manufacturers make their details "CLEAN". Hot Wheels are notoriously known to have a dirty detailing while others like Majorette and some Tomicas have cleaner detailings. just try to look how the manufacturers write the details like on the car badges, nameplates and logos.
Not wrong about Hot Wheels' notoriety for their dirt detailing. However, for 1:64 cars (that are, not to mention, a dollar) it is rather impressive Hot Wheels can go the extra mile to add these details. So I supposed there is two choices here - A more chunky but more details car or a cleaner, less-detailed car. Thanks for the comment :)
I think the offset of the wheels looks much better on the Hot Wheels version, they are way too inset on the Tomica car. I don't like the opening hood because it looks really goofy when its closed. I do like the wing and the window panels better on the Tomica version though, although I think overall I prefer the HW version.

Both of them are great but the hot wheels more like cartoonish style. Tomica did a stellar job their version, always tomica's base line suck because of the wheels. i will give to you my picture later to andrey pabalate, then he's gonna give you the huayra bc drawing ok... :)
In my opinion,tomica is better because hot wheels is just made for track and speed otherwise it's just a boring rolling car Whereas tomica is also quite good on track and much fun to play without the track
Have to say in this one I'm going to go hot wheels this time. As I see it their faster on the track and look better when displayed. Tomaca looks good too but it kinda looks like a knock off with the benefit of an opening hood and suspension, that's not enough for me
The hotwheels paint quality are messy and its not as clean as tomicas. And tomica proportion are more accurate. Its spoiler id also more accurate compare to hotwheels i think tomica deserves the cake here

By looking the colour i already knew. Tomica is the best and right colour. The colour is pearl white. Hot wheels in wrong colour.

I brought a type r with the grill paint almost off of the car
