Simple but a very cool move, very creative.. how he uses his guitar to make noises for this song. I loved the piano version but this version is so.. out there it is amazing.
so beautiful. im almost crying. i usually favor the piano more than the guitar but this changed my mind about that. it changed my mind about music in all.
I just have to say. This song, especially along with the original from Ryuichi Sakamoto, makes my heart jump out of my chest because this song means a lot to me. My friend who just passed away shared with me this song around the time this was first posted. This song and his spirit will live forever in my heart. I will learn this in the piano to let his spirit flow with mine. Cheers to all the musicians out there. The force is strong with this one. :)
dude his hands are so graceful. Idk how to describe it any other way, they just look like they're doin ballet or something. Oh and his playing is off the hook too!
I can absolutely say that no one can use the nail attack technique the same level as KOtaro Oshio, he is really awesome and incredible, no words can describe how beautiful in his song
@Qayzar Kind of like an idealized nostalgia, right? Personally, it takes me to cold and lonely autumn street on the cusp of winter, oddly comforted by the contrast between lifelessness and the vibrant colours of the leaves, a frigid wind carrying them away like crackling little vagabonds. Truly gorgeous music like this is the fuel for dreams.
@tuiso Sung Ha don't do only like Oshio, but he is also inspired by Ulli Boegershausen and many more. Just look at how many differents artists he covered and played with ! He made a fusion of all. Sung Ha can be percussive like Oshio, but also very classic in the fingerpicking. His last album is very eclectic.
Why isn't this dude on TV?!? With skills like that, he could get famous real fast. Watch out music industry, someone with real talent is coming your way!
A dead note is kust a note that`s muted very heavily, which results in more of a clci sound than rather a note. ) using your fingertip (of lefthand, or whichever hand that ISN`T strumming...ie. the one of the fret/neck of guitar) to mute the string
I thought it was fake the first time I watched it, but its real like most has said. Playing the way he does it looks hes making notes happen strumming, but he is actually using his left hand to do hammer ons and pull offs which also vibrate the strings. In certain angles you cant see his left had very well. I love his style really complicated and challenging.
Thank you my darling, you have just shown more maturity than someone who is twice your age! You have shown that we should accept people whatever their tastes, which is something some people never learn to do; they cannot see beyond their own little world and it is a great shame. You are a real credit to me.
@whouston33wh Thanks for the listening advice Whouston33wh. I will take that into consideration and try to be more educated in my opinions. Thanks man.
Damn that moment was cool. (2:19) But the whole song is just a great tribute to the song. I never thought I'd hear it on the guitar and have it sound this good...damn, props to Kotaro Osio. =D jaa, sano
you can always start again. I know it's hard with all the work and stuff. But the thing is we just can't do everything. there's so many guitar pieces i want to play but i have to make a choice anyways.
i'm pretty sure he has some teaching videos on YT, including this piece. maybe it was someone else, but definitely you can find it on youTube. awsome video - thanks!
this guy is a beast one of the most talented man i seen

Perfect...and beautiful... I still can't decide which I like more - riginal version or this Oshio's guitar cover... I love both definitely.
Compulsive listening, captures the mood and feel of the original piece just exquisitely.

Tune the high E ' down' to a c . If your unsure what this sounds like, use one of your other strings to sound out a C note as a guide.
Wow I loved it
This is beyond talent D:
So strong, god damn his strong, expert... Nice style
I probably wouldnt be able to play this... that harmonic section with R.H. looks killer and I wouldnt want to ruin such a good song xP
He's truly the Japanese Acoustic God.
Don't you ever delete this. This song got me through so much.
@whouston33wh Thanks for the listening advice Whouston33wh. I will take that into consideration and try to be more educated in my opinions. Thanks man.
I keep coming back to this video (it's splendid), but never noticed that ...Merry Fwuckin Xmas Mr Lawlence" ...rofl

Wow...
Further to the discussion on what the tuning for this piece is...it's definitely DADGAC and not standard as some are contesting.
สุดยอด!
ชอบครับ ! Finger Style แห่งดินแดนปลาดิบ !
That finger thing at 2:18 is soo kickass
You and Antoine Dufour are my idols.
Semplicemente perfetta. Bravissimo!
Master Oshio-sensei most of the times only uses is nails, that he cares a lot, using liquid base vernish for nails, etc...
@latonglalat
Neither Andy or Kotaro would win. They would join forces and take dominion over the musical world!
