They did at one point. Before Taeyong, he was the only one in NCT to get two solo songs. Idk if they promoted him well but I saw dream in a dream and thought he was just a solo artist until I found out that he was in NCT U.

There was speculation that it was a trial run for a solo single but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯... it is strange that PMN had stages and merch. But for now, I just hope he has a booked and busy schedule ready in China. He deserves it so so much.
