i loved the how deacon looses his sanity more and more in the first half of the game, his self talks get more insane over time and his voice gets fearful. great character development. Also i recomend plaing this in survival, so cant fast travel. Planing the routes around gas stations and camps for resupplying is really immersive.
Days gone very quickly became one of my favourite games of all time. Genuinely surprised it didn't sell well. Remember, it's not underrated, it's underplayed. People who play it, love it. Got every achievement on it and will replay it frequently.
Days Gone is one of the best open world games made. It puts some iterations of Far Cry to shame (granted, DG is 3rd person, not 1st, but still a similar open world). It's a little like Mad Max meets Far Cry meets Dying Light. It still deserves a sequel.

I absolutely love this game, have multiple new game+ playthroughs and still usually playthrough it once a year around Halloween. So bummed it didn't get as popular as it deserved, really wanted a Days Gone 2 to learn more about NERO!
This is an extremely underrated game indeed. I had an absolute blast playing through the story and often come back for the extra challenges like the unlimited sawmill horde
It's such a epic game, especially when you're from Oregon, where it is based. It makes it so damn special. I also love how they obscured some places and parts to avoid risking causing the usual "Instagram trap" to transpire. Smart, and the right way to go about it. Protect the few wild and rural areas we have left that haven't became sought after/swamped and trashed by tourists who have zero respect for the place.
I'm 53 been playing video games since the '80s and this game is absolutely in my top ten probably my top five ever. One of very few games that I'm working to 100% about 10 hoards left. Only thing I wish it had was a hardcore mode death equals restart. I might try to do a deathless run but not really the same thing.

As a huge fan of the Far Cry series this game felt very very familiar. Open world, take over outposts, skin animals, familiar weapon wheel, enemy tagging, hovering markers, "leaving mission area" warnings - its all there. Having just got into this game after FC5 it feels like Montana all over again - except this time the Peggies have been replaced with Zombies. I'm enjoying it, I just hate the cutscenes (and it feels theres a million of them) so much but thankfully they can be skipped. Got some nice mods as well. The mod I really want I have not found yet - how to make the damn bike faster!

Great to see you play this game again! I got the platinum at launch, and I absolutely loved it. The only downside for me was the terrible performance in the final area of the game (and in general it had some issues given it was a late era ps4 title). Thank god the game has been cleaned up for ps5 and also has the PC port, definitely worth your time if you can get into the way it does things: which comes down to being a bit more methodical with taking out zombies, and having to take care of your bike’s needs. I personally found it to have just enough to keep me having fun through to the credits.
I would say the story for this game is sooo well written and interesting, meanwhile the gameplay itself can get repetitive because all you really do is take out hordes and raider camps. Then you go back to safe camps and upgrade your weapons and go out to do the same.

Zombies wont enter through the gate even if it's wide open and you're on the other side. They just stand there but never cross the threshold.
