That was probably one of those trucks that got parked and scrapped because it was "broken" because the bed wasn't going up or anything with the hydraulic system was working. So, park it and eventually scrap a perfectly running and functional truck because no one thought to turn on the flow valve.
or the mechanics got tired of working on that old POS and "retired" it to the Backlot because it's the only way their chincy ass boss will replace anything
You’d be insanely surprised how often stuff like this happens. Even with normal cars. I bought a 2010 dodge caliber CLEAN years ago for 500$ bc he said the trans was out and lost ALL years only drives in 1-2………. They have a CVT trans…. They don’t shift like a normal trans. When I took it on a test drive I was like you’ve gotta be joking….. turn right around handed him 500$ not a dollar less than what he asked for, cleaned up it told for 4,200 2 days later. Nothing else was wrong with it at all.
@@Hable_3 on a different size scale, I dumpster dive. Pulled out Maybe just a 4 year old flat screen tv. They lost the remote. Amazon $7.88. Back in business!
Man that truck would be sweet for a yard truck moving short still around the yard with that over cab its perfect for tight spots in the yard. .. but I know it could be more beneficial to use its parts on one of the other trucks we already have road ready .. A man can dream right?💪🏻✌🏻👍🏻🇺🇲
I believe Far and Away this model was the backbone of the fleet for United Waste Systems. It sure was in Milwaukee as well as the competitors in southeast Wisconsin
Its nice to know that if you positively absolutely cant stand to be in possession of an old vehicle you can pretty much count on the local scrap yard to take it.
You could probably build a small little fleet of awesome militia/zombie vehicles to sell off! Weld sone swords and metal spears to different parts, make cages, gun and cross bow mounts, and just get wild with the innovations on these old rigs.. 😂 Just a thought that went through my wild head
Yes. Myself included. I scrapped a huge 1960 international farm tractor. Fired it up and drove it on my trailer and hauled it in. Nice cars with a blown head gasket or neglected, rusty trucks that are 100 functional but need frame patches or shackles. Down there there’s no rust so they probably have a few gems.
@@Antiquefarmequipment that tractor got pulled aside and sold. It was a waste tho, there was seriously nothing wrong with it and nothing was cobbled, hacked, or abused. It was a giant heavy tank and whene they seen it at the scrap yard, the pulled it to the front. It definitely didn’t get melted down.

Thats an old refuse truck converted to rolloff hauler. The ladder and being a cabover is a giveaway
Looks like she's a runner! You fleet just expanded.
We should definitely put that old girl on the road. I'd drive it for sure!

@@Brian-tm4xt There could be dump bed stuff laying around to put on it.
Did they need a brush hog to set it free from the weeds?!?
