(Spoiler)I believe the dragon priest heart would be a better fit for this build as it does the same thing as the rock heart. However, I think it's like a 25 physical resistance or something. The way I got it was I went to the grand dragon commune spoke with the dragon lady there who tells you to slay bayle so I fought the two dragons fighting the summit drake and then bayle went back and she was gone and the priest heart layed on the floor.
A great guide, and once again I have to reiterate how much I appreciate the fact that the title of this video is not "THIS BUILD IS BROKEN!? OP GAME-BREAKING DRAGON BUILD!!!!!"
sad that this build is not working in real game. Tried already. Spells are too slow you're damaged by mobs and the pace is slow. Plus you're getting extra dmg from hits due to the lack of armor and your FP is running in 1-2 casts.
Try running radagon icon with azur glintstone staff in your off hand, the staff actually works for incantations too making you a fair amount faster at casting
@@CaseyLyons-yc2ri does the effect of Azur Glintstone Staff still work even if you don't meet the intelligence requirement for the staff? Like I know you can't cast spells with it but does its passive still work?

Man, finally! I love dragons in Elden Ring, and in general, this DLC added really cool enchantments, a new boss for me to call my favorite, and now a new build from the great Fextralife for me to use.
Placidussax used to be my favorite just because he was the dragon lord and I love the boss fight, but now I see Bayle The Dread as my new favorite because I prefer his design. However, the other dragons still hold a place in my heart lol.
It is great to see that you are getting a rest between videos, we were worried 😧 I hope to see a build like your Eleanoras Poleblade build that I am still using for the DLC Thanks 😊 You are the Best

I dont know if anyone noticed this but after you cast bayle's flame lightning you can cast bayle's tyranny as a follow up, this is good when fighting large enemies. Unlike using the tyranny first it takes a long time to get off the animation.
Used my last larval tear on this and boy am i glad. Its so much fun with occult beast claw and Bayle’s Flame Lightning! Will be doing NG+2 with this build.
THIS IS THE VIDEO WE ALL WERE WAITING FOR. Hope you'll do a sequel of Perfect paladin build! I'm using the Black Iron Hammer cause scale well in Faith, you can put Sacred Blade on it and thr counter attack ability is perfect per the build @Fextralife

Hell yeah! Love the video! I was looking for a video like this yesterday and when i couldn't find one, I went and made my own video and uploaded it. My damage numbers where higher tho, I believe I saw 8k damage for dragonmaw alone with high faith and arcane. but i love your videos so much, i definitely love it when the real pros at Fextralife put out videos.
I've never would have thought to use a dragon arcane build till I found out about the dragon heart. I have a build very similar to what you've done. Been having so much roaring at everything 😅
I was pretty much trying to build around that idea too since I usually use Dragon Cult Incantations a lot more than Dragon Communion (Mostly because I both like the speed of most Lightning Spears and Also cause I love the OG lightning spear cause of Solaire) I have 50 Vigor, 25 Mind, 27 Endurance 30 Faith and used the rest split between Strength and Dex as I’ve always liked Quality Builds, sure I’m only SL 125 but so far it works out pretty well, definitely would be more efficient at 150 so Faith could get cranked way up for better incantations and a tad bit more mind but If you don’t mind it I’d recommend giving it a go and see how it feels, definitely allocate to either Faith or whatever Melee stat you prefer though.
DS2 dragon form looked the coolest with that armor, but this is also nice. It's a shame your poise sucks because no armor. But we can't have them all. Anyway, looking forward to the dragon priestess too. And maybe the carrian sorcery sword. Spellcasting without a staff. Can shield and skewer stuff xD
I ended up creating this and mixing it with your beast claw build for that maximum dragon feel. Blue dancer charm, shard of Alexander, rotten winged sword insignia and lord of bloods exultation w beast claws set to occult. Dragon communion in offhand and using rock heart. Dragon incants for long breaks in boss moveset and spam ash of war for everything else
I'm not scared, but I'm just not capable of putting these 500 separate pieces together to make a bad ass build. Anything I come up with would do like half the damage lol
This is one of the two best arcane builds IMHO. Clarification to your commentary: the Dragon Communion Seal is a very close second in incant scaling, so there is little benefit in buffing something like the Eardtree Seal, casting with it, and off handing the Dragon Communion Seal. I'm in NG+ and I cast with DC seal and also hold a second one in the off hand for the buff. If playing for DC incants it is superior to minimize faith and maximize dex (behind arcane, of course, which should eventually go all the way to 80), because the DC seal scales so well off of arcane, the faith is minimally important, and the dex scaling on the typical status application types of weapons you will want to use is more beneficial than the faith. I am running beast claws. The other Arcane build goes Arcane, then faith, then minimal dex or strength depending on which weapons you use. Main hand DC seal. Off hand the Gravel Stone seal and mainline Dragon Cult incants. I choose the Death Knight Armor set over the Priestess Heart because the extra damage from the Preistess Heart usually comes at the expense of slotting a defensive talisman instead of an offensive one. This makes it a wash between the DK armor or the PH, and the PH looks dumb so... Long story short if you want powerful incants with arcane you can either go Dragon Cult with Arcane>Faith>strength/dex... or you can go Dragon Communion with Arcane>Dex>Faith.
Sorry to ramble I just love these builds. The best part of going caster as an Arcane build is that while you get these powerful and unique incants as your main damage source, you get to surround that with all sorts of weird, fun and effective tools like open handed weapons, poison and bleed, perfume bottles, whips, star fists, twin blades, katanas, poison arrows etc.. You become a Swiss army knife.
Hey man, thanks! I remember when I first got the game when it first came out I was excited because I heard about the dragon stuff. I tried the dragon priest build that you made a couple years ago and had a lot of fun with it. This one though… this is awesome. Only difference with me is I use bloody helice for melee. This build slaps though, Messmer got clapped on my 3rd try. 👍
Been waiting on this build since I got the Rock Heart, I feel like I got close on my own to making a good version but I wanted to see what other people were doing. And honestly, Poise isn't a major downside PVE if you're in the DLC, because I've been having Poise as high as 60 not matter on basic dlc enemies and their basic attacks. Even with solid +#s of Fragments and Revered Ashes. It is worth pointing out however, that if you play with summons you won't get a Dragonman Mimic, you'll get a Nakedman Mimic. SO hopefully you have Tiche, Bloodfiend Hexer (combos great with blood builds), or another tanky or dodgey summons leveled.
If you are going to use lighting attacks with the build you should grab the priestess hwart instead as it boosts lighting damage and its found next to the dragon communion altar after killing bayle
This was my build for the main play of elden ring. Only bad part was you didn't get most the good good till end game but now to be able to be dragon god from the jump this will be so much fun
Hey man, just wanted to say I did a build very close to this except I used the bayle, roar, Canvas and Dragon crest shield talismans. It makes theodorix breath insane!
Also, to my knowledge Theodorix Breath is the only legendary dragon incantation that can be used on horse back, which is super convenient. Give it a try sometime pls
consider cerulean-sapping cracked tear for the wondrous physick for this build. the attack you do with your weapon restore fp. its a cool way to make incants you are using dependant on the weapon you are using
On release I tested it and Dragon Form only gave 5% and gave around 17% damage bonus. They shadow buffed it to 10% damage negation and 20% damage increase in 1.12.2. Thats honestly amazing.
Would love to see one that focuses on dragon cult spells as well, and the special armor from the DLC that boosts those skills/incantations. Some sort of dex/faith build or quality/faith maybe
This build with dryleaf arts would be dope since that weapon weighs basically nothing so you get maximum blue dancers dress damage PLUS a dragon doing martial arts is kinda just fitting lol
Thank you! I just created a new character and wanted an Arcane build, for me it felt like it only has limited options for spells and weapons and then I saw your post. I will copy your build 🤎
I took some points off vig, endurance and faith and invested into dex to wield Morgotts Cursed Sword. The weapon is quick and scales with dex and arc and with Radagon talisman you get basically max casting speed.
I can’t help but feel like the beast claws would be a very thematic weapon for this build. I don’t know if they would be the best weapon per se, but that’s fine I think because the main focus are the spells anyway.
I wish Florissax' Ancient Dragonclaw was available to us to really tie together the arcane/faith dragon stuff or really just anything to pair with the Flowerstone Gavel.
If you wanna get really nasty in NG+, you can dual-wield Dragon’s Communion Seals for extra damage. I upgraded mine because I’m a crazy person, but you can just pull it out for bosses if you want. 🐲
the other dragon breaths (fire and magics ones) are also very good depending on the match up crystal tears and the scorpion talismen can can also boost there damage quite a bit.
Awesome! I've been having a blast with an Arcane Dragon Communion build. I supplement it with a blood infused Bloodfiends Arm. I also have the dragon form that comes from the Dragon priestess. I think that one has the +20 % to Dragon Spells as a passive.
*Dragon Cult Incantations from the priestess, not dragon communion spells. Dragon communion spells are from the rock heart per this video. And in both cases you have to transform and then activate the heart again to get the temporary buff, I believe
I'm very happy with the dragon forms in Elden Ring, easily the best in the soulsborne series. Speaking of, are there plans for a dragon priestess build focused on the dragon cult spells boost it gives?
This build is insane because you can switch up wich breath attack based on a bosses weaknesses, then pair with tears and talismans. Can easily go over 10k damage on bosses like the hippo with fire
Just made a dragon build came here to see what tailsman people are using for this build I went arcane route to get more mind but yeah I thought to use that weapon you have but I went with beast claws and scaled them with occult fits the dragon vibe and is hella good cheers
Can you consider doing a PvP guide with that build? And discuss strategied and set ups during coop and invasions fighting with against real players. Also curse you Bayle because I got hit talon bone smash instead of Bayle'S tryranny... I don't even know how I clicked on the wrong thing....
Ok hear me out: - 2x dragon communion seals - Bayles tyranny incantation - Fire scorpion charm - talisman of the dread - dragoncrest +3 / outer god heirloom - Roar Medallion - stone heart This will blast BIG TIME
I did a vartiion of this with the fire scorpion charm and have used AGHEEL'S FLAME to melt certain bosses, I use it in conjuction with Eleonora's Poleblade for fire and bleed damage with Arcane up to 80 and don't get much grief from many enemies besides the Trolls in the iron forge.
I did a very similar build, battling and beating the dlc with only roars. Jellyfish shield in left hand, dragon seal in right hand. Deletes health bars nicely
Hi @Fextralife ! Can you please do a 150 level build for moonveil please 🙏 . I love your builds and how much work you are putting in these builds . Thank you !
I've always loved Dragon builds. My first ER playthrough was with a Dragon build. This new version is very exciting. I wonder if you will kill some NPC quest lines if you try to get the Rock Heart early?
The dragon rot breath use to be super OP, even Melenia takes damage from it if you build up enough. Idk how great it is now. I still use it at times, but I respeced my character for a Dex/faith build for the DLC, and took out a ton of points from Mind.
Didn't play when it was stronger, but I've got 80 hours into a communion build with cult incantations sprinkled in, and both rot breath and Ekzykes decay are very good. Pretty much all breath types are. The best thing to do is switch to the weakest of each boss you fight and play off that element. Ekzykes decay made my rellana fight really easy.

@@8jb65 Ah thank you for the correction.
@@8jb65that's actually really helpful thanks!
I'm very happy with the dragon forms in Elden Ring, easily the best in the soulsborne series. Speaking of, are there plans for a dragon priestess build focused on the dragon cult spells boost it gives?
Will you also make one for dragon cult incantations? With the item similar to rock heart that boosts those
7:54 My anxiety at this part📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈
I know you often don't level your seals for builds like this, but would you recommend leveling the Dragon Communion Seal for this build specifically?
This build is insane because you can switch up wich breath attack based on a bosses weaknesses, then pair with tears and talismans. Can easily go over 10k damage on bosses like the hippo with fire
If you’re doing a incantation build you should probably go all in so flocks canvas and the lesser one should be on at all times
This build but with occult beast claws is exactly what I’m going for. A real feral build clawing and biting everything
Just made a dragon build came here to see what tailsman people are using for this build I went arcane route to get more mind but yeah I thought to use that weapon you have but I went with beast claws and scaled them with occult fits the dragon vibe and is hella good cheers
I’m wondering if rellanas cameo will increase damage for these incantations??
Beloved stardust might be good for this build sometimes too but take hella damage in the dlc so maybe not haha
Can you consider doing a PvP guide with that build? And discuss strategied and set ups during coop and invasions fighting with against real players. Also curse you Bayle because I got hit talon bone smash instead of Bayle'S tryranny... I don't even know how I clicked on the wrong thing....
Which is better the rock heart or dragon heart from the priestess?
ayy i was just asking about this build, thanks!
Ok hear me out:
- 2x dragon communion seals
- Bayles tyranny incantation
- Fire scorpion charm
- talisman of the dread
- dragoncrest +3 / outer god heirloom
- Roar Medallion
- stone heart
This will blast BIG TIME
Love this. Can you do a Euporia build next?
I did a vartiion of this with the fire scorpion charm and have used AGHEEL'S FLAME to melt certain bosses, I use it in conjuction with Eleonora's Poleblade for fire and bleed damage with Arcane up to 80 and don't get much grief from many enemies besides the Trolls in the iron forge.
I did a very similar build, battling and beating the dlc with only roars. Jellyfish shield in left hand, dragon seal in right hand. Deletes health bars nicely
You beat consort Radahn with only roars and no summons? What abilities did you use?
Hi @Fextralife ! Can you please do a 150 level build for moonveil please 🙏 . I love your builds and how much work you are putting in these builds . Thank you !
I've always loved Dragon builds. My first ER playthrough was with a Dragon build. This new version is very exciting. I wonder if you will kill some NPC quest lines if you try to get the Rock Heart early?
Awesome build
Is there a reason to use rock heart over the other one you get from the questline in Jagged Peak, or is it just preference?
The other one boosts dragon incantations while the rock one boosts communion's.
@SavageDJho Gotcha, thanks for the clarification.
Does this do well against Radhan cause I’m hurting
what bayle ability would you pick first though? Since first gameplay only allows one choice :)
