    I wanted to do a more thorough review on this Harley Benton Fusion ii HH. It wasn't without problems just after a few days of arriving. That said, I still think it is a great guitar. Good thing I know how to solder.

    Fender had a guitar made in Indonesia. Limited Custom Telecaster FMT HH. Plays impeccable, great build quality, beautiful flame maple, top mahogany body, set neck. Possibly made at the same place as your H/B Fusion. H/B has about four guitars I'd like to get my mitts on.🙃🤙🍺🍕

    Thanks Rich, every honest review is appreciated. I have the HSH Fusion 2, and I have to say I am amazed at the build quality, the overall finish, and the hardware, even the pickups, which many have found wanting, are much better than I had expected. Stainless steel frets, a Wilkinson Trem (I don't really use trems much, but this one is stable from a tuning point of view). It is a great studio guitar for me, very adaptable in tone, and feels good to play. These guitars are fine for beginners because of the price, but a more experienced player will get the most from them, since they do always seem to need a lot of setting up straight out of the box (I have a J Bass fretless from them too, and it also needed a lot of setting up - just the little things, but for a beginner?) I like to think of my Fusion 2 as being a "biddable" guitar, it's character is not as over-powering as some guitars I have owned, but that just allows the player to come through, without this crazy idea of a piece of wood having "mojo" - the player has the mojo, not the guitar, and maybe that is the best way to go?

    Thanks so much for this honest review man! I am literally getting ready to buy a few things from Thomann, including this exact model of guitar. For reference, I live in central Indiana, so it’s a bit of a trip for my order. One thing I was not aware of is the movement limitations of the tremolo. I was not expecting this tremolo to act like a Floyd Rose, but I would like the ability to do a full dive bomb here and there, and be able to pull up more than you were able to as well. I can deal with a few minor issues for the price, but to me the tremolo movement limitation is a pretty major issue. This is definitely making me rethink purchasing this guitar. Again, thanks for the great review. Your timing was impeccable lol! Take care man! \m/

      You can get a Fusion 2 with a Floyd Rose locking tremelo

    • @iandavidwolfe
      @iandavidwolfe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ketoninja Hi Kevin, I actually ended up getting a Fusion II H H with a Floyd Rose. However, I was really wanting a PRS style guitar that had more trem movement and without having a Floyd Rose. That being said, I am happy with the Fusion II. I will still be getting the PRS SE Tremonti at some point though. Take care man.

    Get the frets checked and polished to a high shine, it makes a word of difference. SS frets do not budge if there are scratches, it immediately translates to bad vibrato and noises. I got a used one with a bad setup (hump at 22. fret). Once the frets were leveled and polished it was wonderful. My trem was shot from day one (too soft metal). I hardtailed it and it works Ok for that ;-) So Get the WS-100 trem if you plan on using the trem. I like the locking tuners, they have a nice grip. The shape of the neck is really nice too. I hope for a hardtail version in the future ;-)

    I have one of these and funnily enough it arrived with the bridge pickup position not producing any sound. That was almost a year ago and haven't had a chance to get it fixed due to COVID. As a project guitar though it's an amazing base to work off. With upgrades worth not much (pickups, pots etc....) you can pretty much create a Suhr PT without the price tag.

    I love the look , it sounds great with you playing it, I have been tossing up whether to buy one or not for sometime now , the price is definitely right. Harley benton guitars overall are a fantastic bang for the buck but have found they need quite a bit of setting up to get them to play the way you want...... but that is the same for any guitar. I have found on all the bentons I have so far the tuners are pretty bad at least on mine and they have all been changed out for locking tuners , and I have just ordered some bone nuts for all 3 of them. The pups on all 3 of mine sound great and wont be changing them. Good review Rich and great playing . Thanks for your time and effort. Was hoping for another 2 minute nugget at the end though lol.

      The current model has Grover Tuners and they are very good. The set-up a necessary thing to do on any guitar you buy. The box has Allen wrenches with the guitar and the neck is very easy to set compared to the classic headstock screw. I also raised the pickup heights for extra volume and leveled the Floyd Rose after the neck setup. It's my best guitar at the moment.

      I have this guitar in the purple sparkle gold hardware finish. Yes you can pull it backwards. It doesn't have even remotely near the travel of a floyd, but it does keep in tune remarkably well. The only downside I've found is the pickups are a bit lackluster, but this is to be expected of guitars in this price range. I am going to be upgrading them, but I am not sure with what yet.

    Got the fusion with the roasted Maple neck,
    Tbh the pick-ups sound like shit the guitar looks very beautiful the flamed on the neck are insane the body is meh like the veneer on it is a little thin so it almost looks like a sticker.
    Also the Tiny switch for coil tap wasnt that Nice but i liked the extra hole so i changed the tone pot for a push pull and added a killswitch im used to lespauls so i like the volume to be a bit further away.
    Changed the pickups to Seymour Duncans still looking for a better middle pick-up and a better 5 way switch this one switches a bit light so i Flick it by accident.
    Sanded down the neck it looked fine but i like the neck to be extra smooth.
    But in all fairness i payed €400 for the guitar with upgrades its at €700 because i took expensive pickups but the guitar still feels way more expensive than it really is.
    The guitar as is ain't amazing in terms of sound its meh but if you're willing to upgrade the guitar its amazing.
