    I have a Carolla ZR which is the top spec Aussie model, it's not the hybrid but has the 2 litre 125kw engine.
    I love the car, it goes well handles well is safe and very ecconomic.
    I'm always amazed at some who are critical and say well two 6 ft people can't really sit in the back and how small the hatch area is for luggage.
    For two people the car is brilliant and the back seat folded down solving luggage issues.
    If the car is for two people this is an excellent choice.
    If you are obsessed by power then don't by this, go buy a Golf R
    I give this a 10, it does everything we want.

    I dont like the dash and that stuck on screen just in middle of the dash, but Toyota corolla is still better then any new German cars, but they should keep the manual versions as well. CVT is ok but crap at same time, I own a toyota corolla 2002 t sprit hatchback, love the car great quality it's still better looking then the new ones that's one thing, but I even like more the saloon version for that era but those never came to uk which is sad. Yes they might use more leather on dash and doors, but I love the old models even better from the 90s corolla those were so reliable even if you ran a tank over them they would literally start up again. As top gear did with the land cruiser that thing wasn't dieing, if it was new toyota it would be dead long ago. Maybe in their first experiment.

    • @Grk149
      @Grk149 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hassan Khan you can get the car with manual either is a 2L in the US/Canada or a 1.2 turbo. Unfortunately the hybrid drivetrain cannot be done with manual, I think this is standard on all hybrid drivetrains across all brands

    • @hassankhan384
      @hassankhan384 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Grk149 yeh I know that, but what's the point of hybrid anyways, yeh they might be good for mpg but that's only if you drive over 40mph and most local roads are 20, 30 and max 40mph roads, so you still on fuel most of the time anyways.

    A brilliant car that's using the worst gearbox by far! Absolutely rubbish! And Toyota has no excuse to use it anymore since other hybrids using normal automatic gearboxes such as Hyundai Kona achieved better thermodynamic results than Toyota..

  • @ristomattikolsi5711
    @ristomattikolsi5711 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, the only down side in that Corolla, is that it's built in UK, not in Japan, where it should be built. I mean i'm sorry, but there is a huge quality difference between actual japanese built Toyota or Honda and UK built.
    Let's remember something here. Japanese quality was the ultimate death blow to the british car industry. Austin, Morris, Sunbeam,... and rest of that awfull garbage simply couldn't compeat with Toyota, Datsun, Honda, Isuzu back in 1960's when japanese cars came in Europe first time.
    I have owned british built Toyota, and it was just rubbish, and i'm not the only one who have experienced that.
    But it's interesting, how good british are with the motor racing engineering, the best. Basicly almost all the Formula1 teams are british more or less. Their headquarters, design, development and manufacturing facilities are located in UK.
    But why the british car production quality is still so bad???

      I own a (everything Japan made)1992 Toyota corolla lift back 1.6 4afe engine and have owned for 20 years, and 245,000 miles later virtually everything is original,incredible reliability,i looked at a 1.2 2017 Toyota Auris excel,if take a look at where the components are made the engine and gearbox are made by Aisin which is japan made,most of the electrics and fuses are Japan or asian made,and when i look at the door hinges and locks they are exactly the same as my corolla,all the suspension is proper double steel construction as mine,many parts enemy Corolla were so good they couldn't improve on them,and still use some to this day,i agree some things aren't quite as good as they were but nothing is.
      But Toyota still has overall the best reliability and longevity of any car.
      My other car is a BMW M240i bought new 3 years ago,brilliant fun car but for an everyday a to b car i will buy another Toyota,no German car is made as good as it should be but often great to drive.

    I just ordered a Touring Sports 2.0 Hybrid Lounge. Can't wait to get it, I'm wasted after having driven an M-Performance F30 Limousine and a 320 bhp Octavia for the last five years with troubles in both cars all the time, whilst also being "one of many" on the road. You're not even treated properly by these manufacturers despite these cars were expensive too. It's like "well yeah you bought a BMW with Alcantara Seats, HUD, M-Sport Package inside and outside, an expensive color and big rims etc... but mate... you just bought a 3-series. You know, it's not even a 5...
    At Toyota I was warmly welcomed, I can follow my car whilst it is being built in the factory with an app and I got a lot off additional stuff for free which is optional on their homepage but you get it from their dealers.
    It was either this or the Volvo V60 for me, but even though I prefered the Volvo, the Corolla is a lot better value/money.
