I'm surprised this isn't a more prominently discussed topic. The "my machines have been on 24/7 for years and are fine, bro" people just drown everyone else out. Doesn't change the fact that 1UP uses cheap heat sinks and their PCBs are all baking inside of an iron box. Just flipping them around and putting a cheap USB computer fan makes a world of difference.
It’s crazy to me that they don’t come pre assembled like that from the get go majority of everything you buy for that price point electronic at least has fans on it the company be screwing the consumer that’s for sure
It's kind of crazy how easily these pcbs get destroyed... When I bought gen 1 street fighter by the time I took a picture of the main menu to show a friend it powered down and the pcb fried 😅 I didn't even get to play one game on it with the stock pcb
Now that’s wild to me I definitely would have been going crazy on arcade1up especially after just dropping all this money they asking for theses cabinets to have it die that quickly. Just terrible. I was surprised that the PCB was just a hundred which really ask the question how much are theses cabinets worth
