    Many thanks for this wonderfully moving rendition. My father Frank Kirby, who died recently, was ex Royal Navy and we both sailed thousands of miles together over the years in a variety of yachts. I recently had a wreath laying ceremony at sea for Dad at Berry Head in Devon UK where I read Tennyson's poem just before we all drank a tot of 15 year old Pussers Navy rum to Frank as I always promised him I would. We then played your lovely choral recording of Crossing the Bar over two JBL speakers and it sounded quite beautiful and moving as the wreath floated off to be surrounded by dolphins! Thank you so much Eastminster! Much appreciated Ken Kirby, Northampton UK.

    Spent all my musical life playing in Rock/Metal bands ( and still am , but a bit more "bluesy" ) . My father died 3 years ago, and he had a great voice & this is what he should have done ( sing in a choir ) . I followed this train of thought , and Joined a male voice choir ( Biddulph Male Voice Choir ) , and I've never done anything so difficult ( I can't read music ) , or fulfilling . We are doing this song in one of our Choir Groups . Your version is Total CLASS . Great job everyone . All the best

    This is beautiful. The words written by Lord Tennyson, supposedly composed while travelling by ferry to his home on the Isle of Wight. I was born there 76 years ago.

    Another beautiful offering by this wonderful choir. A gathering of some very amazing voices. A really lovely arrangement as well. Listening to this particular choir makes me ache to be a better singer.

    Sunset and evening star,
    And one clear call for me!
    And may there be no moaning of the bar,
    When I put out to sea,
    But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
    Too full for sound and foam,
    When that which drew from out the boundless deep
    Turns again home.
    Twilight and evening bell,
    And after that the dark!
    And may there be no sadness of farewell,
    When I embark;
    For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place
    The flood may bear me far,
    I hope to see my Pilot face to face
    When I have cross’d the bar.
