- Spiked Online chief political reporter Brendan O’Neill warns there has been a “complete collapse” of moral authority in the West from the “woke left” since the Hamas attack on October 7.
Actor and broadcaster Stephen Fry came under fire on social media for calling out the surge in anti-Semitism in the United Kingdom in his heartfelt Christmas message.
“What is my message this Christmas? Simple truth that we are all brothers and sisters. It's naive, but it's as good a message as any other,” Fry said.
Mr O’Neill condemned people who took offence to the actor’s message and pointed out the rise of anti-Semitism since Hamas’ attack on October 7.
“The kind of people who posed as our moral superiors for the past few decades have been exposed as real lowlifes, I think, who don't actually care about racism, don't care about equality, certainly don't care about Jewish people, and are only interested in using so-called anti-racism as a way of fortifying their own cultural power over society,” he told Sky News host James Macpherson.
“They really stand exposed and I think the fallout from the Fry video really demonstrates that even further.”

I had the good fortune to meet Stephen Fry when he appeared at the Shaw Festival. He was a real gentleman and he spent time with everyone who wanted to meet him. He gave my mother a big hug and was very friendly with us. His performances were also outstanding and some of the best I have ever seen. I love his work, and I am sending him warm wishes from Canada. The irony is that they dislike the "West" and present western civilization as inherently bad and racist, while at the same time "fighting" and vouching for typical western standards and values like democracy, freedom of speech, female rights, education, secularism etc... They live in a bubble of delusions and I am sure that after living for a few months in any Middle East country they would change their opinion.
They openly and easily criticise Christianity and Christian values regarding family, women and morals, but at the same time turn a blind eye towards Islamic values that are very similar to Christian ones, and even more drastic and extreme when it comes to family values and LGBT+ rights. Islam is the only major religion that allows men to be married to more than one woman, and at the same time suppressing and punishing female sexuality, quite misogynistic for "woke" standards. 😅

Anyone who has studied Political Science & History could see the emerging symbiotic relationship between the Left and Islam coming many years ago. I remember how some of the most far-left staff at the University where I worked embraced jihadists who had just returned from fighting in Afghanistan (under the guise of relief workers) and allowed them to use University lecture theatres to recruit students. This has been going on for 20 years 🤷🏼♂️
