    I started doing $5 a day in 2020. Upped it to $10 a day last year and started doing $50 a paycheck too, going to start $15 a day for the next year. I save for a good dip and buy $500 of something when it seems good a few times a year. I hit big on a few things and its been fun to watch the money grow. Compound interest and dividends are the only way to not work your life away until your too old to enjoy it. This method works and it works well, everyone should be doing this.

    doing 20 dollars a day in my ROTH IRA, hoping to bump it up to 25 and max it out for 2024! Started back in august after watching one of your videos. Currently up about 8ish percent +200 dollars, and I know the market will go up and down but the main takeaway from these videos is to keep a consistent strategy and stay in the market.

    Found your video last January and did the $5 challenge into VUG. Also did $25 in to BTC and $25 in ETH. Huge gains over the last year. I have 3 other brokerage accounts with less risky investments. So this account is just a fun challenge. For 2024 I’m going to increase to $10 a day and keep going with my crypto DCA. It will be fun to see where this account sits in 5 years.

    You showed the gains, which was good. I think it would be even more impactful to also show a graph over time of just how much is in the account because just saving 5 bucks a day without any interest or investment gains will build up quite a bit. I think the other thing to show in the future would be what the account looks like after 10 and 20 years. Someone starting this when they are 16 at their first job will have quite a pretty penny saved by the time they are 26.

    Compounding truly is the 8th wonder of the world. The yearly return on $VOO since january 2018 is 13%. With 5 Dollars a day and daily compounding that would be approx $16.9k. Take the same historical yearly return and give it another 6 years and your investment is now close to 54k! A small sacrifice of $5 a day can spiral into quite a decent chunk of money!

    At least 24% of the gains of the total stock market has been attributed to the top 10 holdings alone, which are big tech companies. Exactly one year ago, if you had invest say $5000 into TSLA when it was a price of $113 roughly per share, today you would have doubled your investment = $10,504. This means the wealthiest people got much wealthier last year.

Bit more hands on but more returns, but great to work in conjunction with investing in stocks.

      That's a great question. When I started in January 2022 the prices were pretty high since we just came off of the 2021 stock market highs....but I decided to stay consistent and just get started with $5 a day. I'll say that the first year of 2022 my portfolio looked awful. I was down $300 in Stocks and probably right around the same amount for crypto. So last year people were laughing at the portfolio. But I kept going and then the results you see today are from that. So I'd suggest considering a plan and sticking with it, even if it looks wild one way or the other.

    Hey Bob! Do you mainly use Robinhood over Webull? Just wondering as I am retired, but want to start a challenge in my Robinhood or Webull account. I may do each one. I put aside all my 2% cash rewards from my credit card and have been doing a 52 Weekly Challenge this year starting with $1.00 first week, $2.00 second week until I hit $52 for the last week of the year. Will start it again in 2025 and continue with my cash rewards going into a separate account.

    I'd suggest M1. instead of investing in to the ETF you could create a Pie for those stocks and have the funds buy the pie slices.

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  ปีที่แล้ว

      My only challenge with trying that is if one of them falls off and the company goes down, you have to figure out your M1 pie. With VOO, the index automatically adjusts the holdings for you with no worry. For example, years ago Cisco and Exxon Mobil were big players in the S&P 500. When they went down and the likes of Apple and Tesla started rising up, VOO adjusted....but for the M1 Pie, i'd have to remove it from the pie just in time without losing a good chunk of my money

    I started doing this a couple of years ago. $10 a day, and I buy major tech stocks (Apple, NVDIA, Google, etc) and into an SNP500 ETF, today im looking at close to 40% ROI … does that sound right??? Almost too good to be true… I am planning to stay in the long term plan for at least 10 years

    Great job as always! Ive been doing similar to this back from Aug 22 after seeing your video just swapped VOO with US SMALL CAP as Voo is already part of my FIRE portfolio. What does uninvested cash mean?

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Uninvested cash is the money I transferred from my bank account into the app. So it's sitting there waiting to be invested. I do it this way so the app automatically takes out $5 each day into both of the funds (instead of tapping into my bank account each day, which would be annoying for me to balance each month I review my statements)

    • @BobSharpe

      For me personally I do this in a regular account since I max out my Roth IRA each year. BUT, if you have room to invest in your Roth IRA, that is definitely something to consider, since it's all tax free growth

    I think next time you should also mention that buying crypto costs a fee. I am sure most know but a few might not about this fee. Makes you wonder how much in fees did you pay agter 2 years

    • @NatesHomeTours
      @NatesHomeTours ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no fee if you buy crypto on Webull or Robinhood. I have bought almost a billion Shib on Webull and never paid a penny in fees.

    • @fatalityish
      @fatalityish ปีที่แล้ว

      No fee on crypto if you buy it on Robinhood. You don't actually own the Bitcoin on Robinhood, hence no fees.

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  ปีที่แล้ว

      As the other two comments mentioned, there are no fees (or gas fees) for the crypto. There is a spread of course which happens on any market order via stock market or crypto.

    Seems like it's not much, but if you extrapolated that out longer & x10 it, then it starts making sense to do. Doesn't make sense to do in my country, if we invest in US stocks we have to pay taxes on all profits, which basically k*lls it, you could make as much just having a savings account
