I absolutely love this song and every time I see the *store clerk ask the girl if she's ok even tho his been shot multiple times* brings tears to my eyes everytime and a perfect story told by one incredible rapper
When I first heard this song, of course, I recognized Nate singing it in the beginning. However, after the robbery was coming, I completely forgot that Nate was singing, and by the end, all I could think about was that actress, and I forgot about Nate. I realized this after the song was over and was shocked tremendously. It was exactly like after watching a movie. Most of his songs are about himself, and it is astonishing how talented he is at erasing his own existence if he so chooses.
The credit for the instrumentation/production goes a lot to Tommee Profitt, NFs main producer and co-writer. The 2 are a total powerhouse of a team. Tommee's orchestral/edm infused beats really help amplify both NFs aggressive side and his more soft, emotional, and melodic side. Tommee is well known for his rendition of Linkin Park's In The End
In interviews,Nate had said that he loves movies. With his favorite being Inception. NF‘s producer and best friend is Tommee Profitt. He actually does music for TV shows. But he and Nate lived in the same town, and Nate would give him every dollar that he would make at all of his dead end jobs to record and produce his music. That’s how they became best friends because he wouldn’t just leave Tommie to produce music. He would be there with him the whole time. And he was in the studio so much that they became best friends. But this type of music is right up Tommie’s alley. That’s why when she knocks tequila soup over you just hear that. One note going on and on and how the music is like a heartbeat.
