I just want to take a minute and thank you for posting this video. It was one of the best I have ever seen detailing the complete job. Without this video I would have spent hours trying to get the top bolt. Very much appreciated!
Can I ask what the symptoms were before changing the starter out? Was it making a noise around the Torque Converter, was the starter still working? I'm trying to chase an intermittent rattle around the bell housing and hoping it's not the TC! Also wondering if it's the catalytic converter... Thanks!
The starter was intermittently not working but no noise (rattle). How, I have now idea with the spindle broken like it was. As for your noise I can only speculate the cat or a heat shield to be the most likely on a normally driven car. You can check for the rattle setting still by slowly revving the engine and listening for the rattle. A cat or heat shield will likely reveal themselves during this. Not guaranteed mind you. Good luck.
Trust me you don't need that long shit once you remove that air duct for the alternator u can use your hand and screw that sucker in take you about 15 mins
