I have to use DLSS cause that's how I get the smoothest result despite the bluriness and you my guy found a way to make it clear!!!!!!!! RESPECT CAPTAIN!!! 💯
I am using DLSS with my NVIDIA 3080Ti only and it works perfect. But till I finally switch over to 2024, there still need a lot of approvement from the developer.
Good to hear that it’s working! Agreed but I think it should be expected, we are experiencing the same effect when MSFS2020 was released but this one is going to get fixed pretty quick I’m sure!
Awesome tip, if you have an intel CPU i9900k, i10900k, 11, 12 and so on, make sure to disable Hyperthreading and Virtualization on your CPU config on bios as it improves performance and removes stuttering.
Subbed! You the bossman. Will try this on my 4080. My performance is already smooth enough but I will try this also! Does that have any help on the blurry scenery or we still have to wait for a microsoft fix do you think?
Thanks my man! 🤜 I hope this give an extra help! This is just for your raw performance when flying by using DLSS. The building form and blurry texture terrain is on MS side.
Wow thanks for this! I’m trying it now on my i7-13700f and RTX4070. It’s causing quite a bit of performance hit for me but looks so much cleaner. Had to drop down to performance where before I was on quality/ balance. Do you have any information on what this setting actually does ?
DLSS essentially takes a lower resolution version of your game and uses AI to upscale it, improving performance while trying to maintain good visuals. With this setting, we’re effectively doubling the scaling, which enhances image rendering based on your base resolution. However, if your base resolution is already high, you might experience some performance degradation in exchange for a sharper, clearer image with DLSS.
@@cpt-bossman Thank you, ya I think my base resolution was too high to use this, though it wasnt too bad. I havent really compared a lower than native 4k resolution with your edit yet. Now If we can get the airfield aircraft to load in with higher detail before Im right next to them, we will be set :)
Awesome with my old i7-3770K & RTX3060 a game-changer setting. With my specs the walk-around is awful... the movement is very laggy and walks always after releasing the key..... i hope in a mod to skip it
Sir! Am I reading this right? You are still rocking on a 3rd Gen i7 CPU to handle MSFS2024? Christmas is coming, I think it’s time ⭐️ Glad that it did something for ya!
Hi ! I have the impression that it works, it's not bad. On the other hand it changed the color of the ath which is really not pretty now, is that normal?
Tried your trick and then went to test it out. Two things happen, one I got a danno crash or something like that and secondly my FPS went from averaging 80's and 90's to 34 fps. After that I said hell no went and put it back and all was fine. Not a good trick to say the least. I noticed in your video you never did show your fps, regardless these were my results. My graphics card is a RTX 4080, 64 gigs of ram, 7900x3d CPU. Edit: blurry graphics was never a problem for me but the ghosting of numbers was a problem. I am running on DLSS and was using DLAA, switching from DLAA to Quality did fix the ghosting numbers. Just wanted to add that.
DLAA looks crips for sure but I prefer using BALANCED, while it’s not blurry on my side wit this 1 setting, I feel my sim is still smoooth. Thanks for the additional info
Argh ! This trick is crashing my GPU ! RTX4070. Giving an error popup windows saying the GPU has crashed ! Before the crash itself, scenery takes a long time to load a Minecraft type scenery ! After few seconds on the tarmac CRASH and error message !
For me it didnt work. I am using Ultra Settings and pretty much same as you on DLAA, and it dropped FPS to 2-10 on 4080 gpu. When using Ultra performance, I did get frames back, but Fenix 320 had all screens black. So, went back on using 1.0000. Thanks for tutorial thou. Maybe someone finds this usefull.
It’s so interesting that we can all have the same or similar hardware set up and we are not all getting the same results I’m still glad that you try and get me your feedback! See you in the skies ✈️
Great stuff man. Thanks a lot. Well I was excited too soon too early. My system froze. Running a 4090 and a 7950X3D here. Plenty of headroom but didnt work out. Latest drivers installed. DLSS in quality mode. The numbers are blurry when I push the stick forward. Was the case in 2020 and again in 2024. How do I fix this? Any suggestions? Thx again. Keep up the work.
@@cpt-bossman I think I know what causes the issue here. I use DSR factors in NCP. My resolution in MSFS is 3840x2054 and fullscreen 4096x2160. I read some stuff about SecondaryScaling is talking about scaling within MSFS but can be done outside MSFS as well with NCP. This is what I found: "...secondary scaling set to 2.0 simply let the sim being rendered in 2x the resolution you selected ingame. Means: you can achieve this using render scale set to 200 or simply using DSR factors." So my guess is you use Sec scaling or you use DSR factors not both. Means overkill on the GPU.
@@MartinGraeff Ah, there it is-you’ve pinpointed the issue! DSR scales the image based on the post-DSR resolution, and using this trick essentially doubles that scaling that you already have. For example, if you're working with 4096x2160, doubling it brings you to a near 8K resolution, which puts a heavy load on VRAM and tanks your frame rates which could cause crash. DSR and Secondary Scaling achieve similar results, so it really comes down to which one works best for you. Personally, I’ve noticed some ghosting with DSR. If you want to stick with DSR for general scaling but leverage Secondary Scaling specifically for FS, you might consider starting with a lower base resolution like 2560x1440 or 3840x2160, then let Secondary Scaling do its thing. With a 4090, this setup should be a breeze! Hope this help brother!
I tried this for both MSFS2024 and 2020 and it works. However this will eat up your vram so there is no benefit for me with a 12 gb card. Still getting better performance by just using TAA.
@@titelrolvertolkerThanks for sharing, this is interesting, we have a device running on same config and we get better perf with this setting than using TAA, VRAM usage is 10.8 in NYC with FrameGen and mix high/medium settings
So I have a pretty high end PC and have heard that the DLSS in 24 is running an older version. Would just updating this on a higher end PC give the same results? Or would I still need to modify the config file? This sim being so buggy and knowing many many fixes are coming I want to try and avoid editing a config file....
The performance gain from updating the DLSS file is minimal, around 2-5%, but you might notice a slightly clearer picture. Unfortunately, this is due to how DLSS is implemented in MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, where the rendering resolution is set low by default. To improve it, you’ll need to adjust the value in the config file unless Microsoft introduces a slider or setting to tweak it directly in the sim. As I mentioned, this tweak is optional and easy to reverse if you’re not happy with the results but doubt that MS will do something about it. Cheers 🥂
Maybe if you've got a super high end rig you might try not using DLSS ! You don't need to. We mere mortal moderate and low end rig owners might need to use it because budget constraints, but we are also not against turning the odd setting down a bit to get performance. Hell, I'm on a 5600x and a 4070, and get acceptable performance on High settings without DLSS. So sick of people with mega rigs spending $2k + on GPU's bangin' on about there problems . The blurry effect was mostly due to the motion blur. At 0, i can read... almost. My screen is kinda small.
