I am so happy my mum put this on for me every morning while i ate my toast before going to school. I remember it so well and my sense of humour knew the meaning of sarcasm and satire. Now kids need to watch shows like Yo Gabba Gabba, which teaches kids to act like you're on speed and say words that arent words.
Sadly no. It's an expression- it means that I was parked in front of the TV set and listened raptly to the stories as if they were coming from a babysitter, when in fact they were coming from a guy on TV. Sorry if that sounded misleading.
