Music and vocals by Farya Faraji. This is a song based on a poem from the Book of Taliesin, a Middle-Welsh repository of poems that date back to the Early Middle-Ages, this one in this case believed by some to go back as far as the 6th century. The poem praises a Brythonic leader called Urien of the kingdom of Yrechwydd, whose location is still debated to this date. He is, like Arthur, a paragon of chivalry and heroism, and a leader of the Celts against the migrating Anglo-Saxons. Old Welsh lyrics: Uryen yr echwyd. haelaf dyn bedyd. lliaws a rodyd y dynyon eluyd. To be born in Wales, not with a silver spoon in your mouth, but, with music in your blood and with poetry in your soul, is a privilege indeed. -Brian Harris
Ur language is literally incomprehensible and deserves no recognition. You and ur “words” represent more that of the babblings of pigs and the vicious screeches of crows; rather than a completely structured and balanced language; Like Greek or Roman. Greek is the superior language and the barbarian tongue of which you speak is savage and wrong. You are barely different to ur anglisc neighbors who you hate, despite you both being barbarous savages. “Greek is the most pleasant language and the most fitting for humans. If you observe the words used by other peoples in their languages, you will see that some closely resemble the wailing of pigs, others the sound of frogs, others the call of the woodpecker.” Galen Of Pergamon
Why? If they ever did exist they were most likely descendants of romans and didnt even speak welsh. Also Camelot most likely never existed. Instead of living in a fantasy world start respecting the real people that lived in history
@@mmanu6126 welsh is an amalgam of proto-celtic and Latin. If there were Knights of the Round Table, they would've spoken multiple language including chiefly Latin as the official language of court, but also Old Welsh, Cornish, Old Irish, Pictish, etc., etc, as they would've been a multi-ethnic alliance attempting to stave off Anglo-Saxon domination. I would love to see a series tackle this time period in the vein of Arthur movie with Clive Owen, but not as cheesy and more a spiritual successor to Rome.
This has definitely become a new favourite of mine Farya. Immediately joining 'Is Acher in Gaíth' as my favourite of your Celtic songs. Amazing stuff once again, though that is not a surprise but an expectation at this point. Everything you release on this channel is gold.
Perfect inspiration for my roleplaying game set during this time period 😁 Especially since I plan on having Urien of Rheged show up at a later point, now I can even use this song to build up hype for him amongst my players!
Out of all of the new songs, I am loving these dives into the diverse Celtic musical traditions, mostly because of my own love for these cultures and traditions. I've even begun to learn "An Alarc'h" because of how much I got hooked up by it at first hearing. ¡Keep it up man!
The Scottish from the west below Loch Lomond down to Dumfries share an ancient genealogical bond with the Welsh dating back thousands of years when they formed the kingdom of Cumbria, that was ruled by an ancient Welsh royal dynasty. The area around modern day Greenock & govan up the river Clyde was a seat of power for these ancient Welsh kings from their seat on the top of Dumbarton rock. God bless my Welsh brothers !
@ when we say Welsh we really mean who the Welsh are descended from. Wales wasn’t a place back then, the term came much later and just means outsiders. From Loch Lomond all the way down to Cornwall we are the same genetic people. That whole west coast & Ireland. In reality at the base of it we are all descendants of the mainland European celts who were pushed north by Roman imperial expansion through what is now obviously well Europe. After time and severely weakened these Celtic groups were further marginalised and pushed into the far reaches of the British isles, dangerous lands that are now wales, the west coast of Scotland and Ireland.
Farya kills it yet again with music from around the world, we love to see it! One other Welsh song it'd be interesting to see your take on is Dacw Nghariad

Farya, your music is amazing as usual Maa Shaa Allah!!! Farya, can I request a song? The song I request you to do is Ailein duinn. It is a traditional Scottish Gaelic folk song. My most favorite rendition of the song is the track "Dream of Albion" from the soundtrack of Medieval II Total War Kingdoms, the videogame that defined my childhood. If you get around to listening to it, I hope you love the song God willing! And if you get around to making a cover for this song, may God will you to absolutely slay the track/beat! Thank you for being awesome by the way. Peace.

Sad that this language isn't the majority one in Wales. I, as Ukrainian who lives all life in Ukraine, am very surprised that people including many Ukrainians speak languages of nations who wanted to destroy their real native ones for centuries.
Welsh is growing tho. 580,880 fluent speakers with it expected to be 1 million by 2040. Wales has a population of 3.1 million and we’re next door to one of the most successful empires the world has seen.
