Why'd the ASU guy tap his racquet on the ground twice after the lob @ 2:50? To try and distract the Stanford guys?
If you look carefully he did slip. Often players will tap the racquet on the ground whilst trying to recover their footing. Although it did seem QUITE intentional with the double tap lol. Who knows

@@JeffreyMarciano That's just the accepted etiquette in tennis. It's to acknowledge that it's a lucky shot. Regardless of the logic behind it, it's a commonly accepted custom that every tennis player follows, even pros. Failing to do it is a sign of bad sportsmanship.
@@JeffreyMarciano its somewhat like apologising for winning in a lucky way rather than skill based. Like they won only bc of luck.

As someone who was pretty mellow on court those type of players motivated me to win even more just to shut them up. College tennis culture was beyond annoying to me.
