Since David Clifford joined the Kerry senior football panel in 2018 he has become one of the most exciting players in Gaelic Football. In the short time since he started his senior inter county career he has claimed two All-Star Awards along with the Young Footballer of the Year award in 2018. In January 2020, David was named Kerry senior football captain at the very young age of twenty one showing how already he is a leader for the county of Kerry.
In our chat with David, he gives us an insight into what playing football means to him and what he has missed most this summer without inter-county football. He reflects on the 2019 All-Ireland Final disappointment and looks forward to this year’s Championship and discusses the importance the Kerry supporters will still play.
He is joined by the Kerry Senior Football Manger and SuperValu Store Owner Peter Keane who reflects on his first time coming across David on a GAA field and playing with his father. Peter also discusses the impact of Covid-19 both in the running of his SuperValu store in Killorglin and on the preparations of the team for this Championship season.

He would have made a great international athlete representing Ireland. Why is he wasting his time with GAA? Such a pity.
