Saw her live back then she is amazing pure power. The night I saw her she was the warm up for a "bigger name"act. When she finished more than half the auditorium left they knew they had just seen the best they were going to see that night.
I have this album (Feel My Soul) and was BLOWN AWAY when I discovered this LIVE performance!!! This song is so complicated both vocally and the arrangement, and of course Jennifer KILLS it effortlessly, but I'm also impressed with the band, because those synth horn parts are crazy and they are doing a damn good job! Jennifer Holliday needs to have her own show stat!
@@oholm09 what do you mean? it's not the album version. i don't know what's going on the synth solo because he takes his hands off the keyboard sometimes but the solo is still playing. Maybe they made a special "live" track for her to sing to? Cuz it's not the tracks from the record.
I still listen to this album today. It's almost a masterpiece. With her lead vocals blended with the fabulous Emotions in the background that made studio magic. Not to mention the Maurice White and EWF musical contribution. If you don't have the "Feel My Soul" lp in your library, I encourage you to get it.
I remember this song and I have this album, it's one of the songs I LOVED and still love on the entire album! We saw saw her in concert in KC at the Kaufman Center , though she did not do this song, her concert was great!!! One of my fav female vocalist! Saw her in Dream Girls too!🏆🙏🕊

I used to love this song when they were playing on the radio. I love that whole album because I am a Maurice White and Earth wind and fire nut. This combo was excellent. I know Aretha Franklin was angry as hell. More so at Jennifer Holliday than Natalie cole. Because now they're cold I can understand at all but this woman here had to make Aretha shake.
