Fresh off the release of his debut album, Sunset Neon kicks off 2018 with a funky remix of the title track from Scandroid's sophomore album Monochrome. Elements of nu-disco and French house melt together with the original track's signature synthwave sound to create a fun, retro inspired remix.

I love both the original and remix equally because the original has a dark theme while the remix has lighter tone to it.

i was waiting for this since the teaser and it's very very good, my patience is rewarded ! The spirit of the song is very different between the Scandroid version and this one, the Scandroid one is more darkest than this version and we pass from darkness to light and it's very good ! Sounds good! But what I loved of Monochrome is the dark-ish ambiance it created listening to it... Listening to the lyrics while these happy-ish funk rythms sound feels... wrong to me, idk why.
It's a different take. Regardless, what the lyrics mean are subjective to everyone.

Lyrics dont mix well with the vibe of the instrumentals put behind this.I have no idea why Bret thought it was a good idea to make this an upbeat happy remix with brooding dark lyrics instead of going with some parallels with the original.This was a terrible idea alltogether.
I kinda like the contast actually. It works out well with the idea of the original song where Klayton(Red, whatever you wanna call him within the context of the song) feels like he doesn't fit in the world and that everyone around him is "missing him". How he's feeling grey and dark and depressing in a world of colour.
The song's instrumental is happy and colourful, enough to make people dance and feel happy and all that, but looking closer into the song shows the true meaning of it. For a lot of people they'll just glance at the surface and enjoy a happy song.
In basic terms. "In a world of color(The instrumental), I see in monochrome(The lyrics)"
@@RoachDoggJR4200 I agree--I really enjoy the contrast in this version. I don't understand the idea that upbeat tunes need upbeat lyrics. Mismatching parts of the music adds depth; there's a variety of emotions in it, it's not just happy, and not just dark and brooding.
