Friends Of Distinction- Love Or Let Me Be Lonely. Hit song from 1970. Find it. Listen too it. See if you don’t agree that it has a great arrangement, vocals and horn section….and would be a great cover for L&F.
@@martinkalk8256 Sorry Mate, but she does not have to do anything! I find it rather unfair, to compare a young living woman with someone who is dead for nearly 40 years. But, simple mindeds will never get my point...
For those who don't know, Richard Carpenter, after hearing this version, invited Ksenia Buzina to come to his house and meet her in person and praised her version. After that, nothing more needs to be said. I just add a compliment to these fantastic musicians. Thanks
For those of us who grew up in America in the 1970s, Leonid & Friends are a real gift! Thank you for paying tribute to some of the best music of the 1970s.
I agree. Covering Karen Carpenter's vocals is walking on cherished ground and needs to be done with taste and respect without trying to replicate Karen (which is impossible). I thought they did a fantastic job covering this classic Carpenters ballad.
Just a note, this is not a Carpenters song, the original was recorded by Delaney and Bonnie: th-cam.com/video/qpZ7BOSmO64/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RFsmK5Nmy3PJ5oE3
This is the best cover of this song that anyone will ever hear. In fact, 99.9% of their covers are the best you'll find. Her voice is flawless. As for the music, their attention to every note and detail is perfect. Thank you so much for ALL the music you share with us!
The fact that this is so faithfully recreated and performed is an astonishing testament to the very high skill level of the musicians, singer and arranger who helped bring this beautiful rendition to fruition.
ABSOLUTELY!! That covers the whole premise of every member in this band and the man who's responsible for this creation. Leonid is in my opinion, a musical genius.
Phrasing, tone and delivery, this seems very much like a tribute to Karen Carpenter. Ksenia is so talented, she can pull it off. For those who haven't, check out Ksenia's take on the Stones' "Satisfaction." Totally different approach and damn can she tear it up!
Wow, fantastic rendition! She sounds just like Karen Carpenter that is a huge compliment because she has the most peaceful and serene voice ever! And such natural vibrato
Quit trying to compare Ksenia to Karen. Each vocalist has their own unique voice and I believe Karen would be very pleased with this performance. Bravo Ksenia.
No one can touch Karen Carpenter's voice, but she comes awfully close! And the instrumentals are spot on. I say this as one who grew up listening to The Carpenters.
I agree with you. I also grew up with the Carpenters, and Karen is my favorite female vocalist of all time. No one will ever match or duplicate her beautiful voice. This however is very, very good and probably comes about as near to Karen as you could ask for.
@@dougolson608 Agreed 100%. I've never heard anyone this close. It's a little bit surprising to me, but I've seen the other videos where Ksenia sings, and she does have a surprising wide range.
I'd say extremly clear. I have perfect pitch hearing... and I can tell you she's utlra close. The one thing to mention about this group is that their tempo is so close to perfect on almost every song. They are awesome..
Holy shit is there anything they can't do? While Karen Carpenter's special voice can't be replicated, Ksenia just absolutely nails this. This cover brings out the emotion of this song. Beautiful.
@@DoctorShocktor Karen Carpenter’s vocal quality allowed her to convey emotional qualities unmatched by anyone else in quite the same way. Still, Ksenia has come closer than anyone else I have heard attempt this song. It is wonderful! I encourage Leonid to do many more Carpenters songs and would not want Ksenia to be discouraged in the slightest by those commenters unable to keep their negative and unfair comparisons to themselves. I appreciate Ksenia’s efforts and abilities on this cover immensely and look forward to as many more as you are willing to share with us in the future. Bravo!
So awesome that Richard Carpenter attended your concert this evening! WOW! What an honor! I knew that if he ever saw this video that he’d be proud of all of you! You’re all incredible, brilliant musicians! Richard can see that! 👏🏻❤️👏🏻 The Carpenters have been favorites of mine from the beginning of their careers! Love them! ❤️❤️❤️
This is the first cover of a Carpenters classic I've heard which is on a par with the original. Fantastic! No one else possesses Karen's singular voice but Ksenia's vocal talent is certainly comparable. And, as always, Leonid and his "friends" deliver an incredible performance.
This Russian Group isn’t a Cover Group, they are truly unbelievable Accomplished Artists beyond Words! Bravo to those Brilliant musicians and Vocalist!!
Ksenia's rendition of this song has me in tears. I lost my wife a year ago this past June and this song makes me realize how much I love her and how much I miss her.
Damn, dude. Hang in there, man. Yesterday at 02:25, March 16, 2019.. marked 5 years of loss and sorrow for my son and me. I used to mark every month on the 16th and wallow in my own self-loathing and -pity. I have her photos everywhere. You will, probably, always miss her. But, rest assured, you will find happiness, once again; but, it'll just be in different shapes and sizes from different worlds and different sources. I will never remarry for all eternity. But, if there is another rebirth of our conciousnesses, and we're somehow, rejoined with all our loved ones, we all win... big. .. And, that notion gives me peace. Peace to you, my friend.
@@rigelmoon9030 Let me tell you I've done grief counselling, and it is the best thing I have ever done. I have learned so much about myself and it's great to be around people who have gone through what I have. A very good friend of mine lost his wife to Alsheimer's when she was just 50. He gave me four nuggets: 1) He said he was not telling me to go out and start dating immediately, 2) He told me that I may not want to re-marry, 3) I may only want to have someone for companionship, and 4) He told me to never close my heart because I would be missing out on something very special. What he said made sense. A very close friend of mine told me to write a book. I told her the first time, "I don't think so." The second time I told her, "I wouldn't begin to know where to start." The third time, she told me, "You have to do this. You have to do this. You have a story to tell. There are so many people out there you can help." I told her, "I've never written anything a day in my life, I could never write a book." She told me, "I've read your e-mails. If you can write an e-mail, you can write a book," She had me. So, I wrote it. Google "If I Can Help One Person: A Path To Healing" and you'll find it.
@@rigelmoon9030 Thank you very much, my friend. It's been brutal, I'll tell you that. There have been times when I feel like someone has literally torn the heart right out of me. This song and "All I Ask of You" from The Phantom of the Opera make me go to pieces. I'm doing grief counselling and it has been the best thing I have ever done. The support I have gotten at work has been phenomenal, which is rare in the workplace. I can't begin to tell you how many tears I have shed over the past two years. Everyone at work has told me, "Whatever you want, whatever you need, we're here." I asked, "What if all I want to do is cry?" The reply was always the same, "If you need to cry, just come and find me." One day, I delivered some binders to a person at work and he told me, "You look like you're about to cry." I told him, "I better go before I do." He told me, "No. Come on in, close the door, sit down, and go ahead and cry. Please go ahead and cry. Just let it out." I sat in his office for 15 minutes and just sobbed. I felt a whole lot better afterwards. I later found out he had a conference call he needed to get ready for. When I talked to him later in the afternoon, I told him that I found out that he was supposed to be prepping for the conference call when I broke down and cried and I apologized for taking him away from that. He told me, "Don't worry about it. That wasn't important. What you needed was." With my wife's passing, it was something that didn't have to happen. Her mother convinced her that doctors were no good. You know the line, "Once a person gets a thought into their head, good luck getting it out." No matter how hard I tried, I could never get my wife to go to the doctor. I apologize to you and everyone for going on so long.
@@rigelmoon9030 It's been very hard, to say the least. At times, I feel like the heart has been torn right out of me. I have been doing grief counselling, which has been a huge help. Wednesday will have been her birthday. I'm just trying to take things one step at a time. The worst days are Valentine's Day (For obvious reasons) and Thanksgiving (Our favorite because we were always thankful to have each other).
I saw the Carpenters live back in the early 70’s. That voice! I have spent the last 50 years thinking I’d never hear another voice that could do justice to her recordings. Now I have. Simply fantastic! What a gift and blessing you folks are!!
Having worked with Karen and Richard when I was at A&M and hearing this version makes me close my eyes and think they are in the same room..They would love this..
My late Uncle Hal Drummed on most of there albums. I'm in complete awe . I think this is the closest thing to listening to the wonderful Karen Carpenter.
Leonid and friends is a living testimony that the oldies sounds far better than the new ones. Makes me feel proud of my generation. Thank you and more power to Leonid and Friends❤❤❤
As a Carpenters fan, I was pleasantly surprised by how very good this cover is. Karen had a very unique, mellow voice, but this was really a great performance.
I agree, I saw L&F play this song live last month and I was amazed! Covering Karen Carpenter is walking on cherished ground. But I thought it was done with taste, respect and pays homage to a classic Carpenters ballad.
Ksenia, you are the only person I've ever seen do justice to Karen Carpenter's vocals. Karen's vocals are extremely difficult for most women to duplicate not because of the high end, but rather the low end. Karen was just so beautifully smooth in that low range where many people cannot even go. You excel there too! This is best Carpenter's cover I've ever heard.
By an amazing long shot. I was stunned to hear this, and thought no one would ever be able to match Karen Carpenter... This group never embarrasses themselves. They actually do the greatest justice to groups they cover.
Positively mesmerizing version of an iconic song. Ksenia simply personifies the magic that IS Karen Carpenter. The orchestration is superb. The horns are on fire. The rhythm section is flawless. What a gem. If they come to your town, go see them.
Unbelievable! This is a very hard song to sing, because Karen Carpenter's vocals were so unique and clear. Yet, Ksenia Buzina did an insanely great job, along with all the musicians. Whole new respect for Ksenia Buzina on this one! You guys should somehow make sure that Richard Carpenter, Karen Carpenter's brother, who is still alive, sees this. He would love it!
@@DoctorShocktor Technically great, but a bit sterile. The singer obviously has a beautiful voice, but it doesn't have Karen's special quality, nor does it convey the emotion Karen packed into the lyrics.
Can everyone please get off their insanely high horse and at least appreciate the care abd effort they put in to even attempt to recreate this wonderful classic, instead of bashing it with unnecessary criticism?!? Yes, we know! NO ONE will EVER sound like Karen Carpenter because she WAS the one and only! We get it! You don't have to 'protect' her legacy. She will always be a Superstar.
I believe it is the finest compliment to play a song EXACTLY as the way the original band played it years ago. Anybody can cover a song and make it their own, but to play a song and make sure you cover all the finest details to sound the same I believe means you pay the deepest respects and tribute to that band. Leonid & Friends pays that demanding respect and Ksenia does an absolutely beautiful tribute to Karen!
Karen Carpenter had such a clear, pitch-perfect voice it's hard to duplicate the feel of her songs. I guess it IS possible. I don't see how a cover can get any better than this.
I'm blown away by these performances. The singing, the musicianship, it's just all perfection here. I was never expecting this song to be covered by Leonid and Friends and now I'm in love with it. Happy birthday Ksenia.
@@westwasbest Hi there. Sadly, I come from a 40 year career as a musician/producer and the distinct, electronic tinge that autotune or any pitch-correction software, puts on any vocal is instantly evident. Not to mention that singers, no matter how awesome, NEVER hit every note PERFECTLY on pitch, which is also instantly evident. Definitely not bragging about my experience, it’s almost a curse making it quite difficult to just listen to a song and enjoy it without being uber-critical. Not that I blame them. The comments in this video alone are why singers use it. I’d MUCH rather read 20 reviews commenting on how spectacular I am than hear critiques about the pitch. That’s why 95% of vocals today have some sort of electronic help. Thanks for asking. 🙂
This is the second person I’ve heard who did a good job in the attempt, nobody out there is truly what Karen was but keznia and leonid and friends have been outstanding doing Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire songs which on some I think they do even better then the originals themselves.
Wow, just WOW! It's 3:30 in the morning and I can't sleep. I turned on TH-cam and my life just changed. As a life long Carpenter's fan, I thought I would never again hear anything as perfect as Karen's beautiful voice. I shouldn't be surprised though, I binge on everything Leonid & Friends do. As a lifelong Chicago fan also, I'm aware of everyone's incredible talent. Ksenia, your vocal expression lets Karen's soul shine through like a beautiful spring flower in this barren wasteland of popular "music" today. No one has even come close to her until you. The orchestral arrangement is as perfect as Richard's original. Please re-create the entire Carpenter's catalogue as only L & F can do. My 68 year old soul can die happy now that I have heard another angel sing.
Totally agree. I'd like to request another great Carpenter song from you guys, the seldom heard movie soundtrack, Bless The Beasts and The Children. Only this group could do it justice.
@@PlanetEarth3141 Good choice. There are quite a few candidate songs. Solitaire is another song that would press Ksenia's ability to hit the low notes. I think if they sit down and listen to the Carpenter's repertoire they would set them up (lots of preparation and attention to detail) and knock them down as each song grabs the band's interest. That's probably how they do it anyway.
I agree with all these comments. Karen Carpenter was out on her own, such a trajic loss. Ksenia does indeed get close, very close. Have a listen to Phoebe Katis, another remarkable talent, hugely versatile and not widely know - it’s criminal.
@@Kevin-rz6lm I agree. This Ukraine band has all the talent it needs to play the Carpenter's songs and show themselves more than a group of rock players only. Yes, it's Chicago the band, my favorite and not easy to do which means plenty agility to diversify.
@@dougrose2452 Ksenia is a real beauty and as a background singer finally got a better chance to demonstrate her voice by covering Karen Carpenter . All my life I've said Karen had the greatest singing voice and perfection. Better than Barbara Streisand, Roberta Flack, etc. Ksenia showed off her amazing own voice now.
@@ivyfalls1 I felt that was where Ksenia succeeded. Her range was impressive. Maybe her breath control was slightly less than Karen, but so many have tried and failed to sing Carpenters songs on various TV shows that this was so notable and worthy of comment.
Ksenia - u r a PEACH. I never thought I would say that about a russky. BUT - WE GOTTA GET RID OF V PUKIN. I HAVE NEVER HATED A RUSSKIE AS MUCH AS I HATE THAT FUCK. HE WILL GET DONE !!!!!!!!!!!
I read this in another Leonid comment section. It goes something like "Calling Leonid and Friends a cover band is like calling the London Philharmonic Orchestra a cover band of classic songs. I'm not disagreeing with you. I just think that this other comment is a great sequel to your comment.
@@stephenwerner1662 - It's all interpretation. The thing with the Carpenters is Karen. It's been over 50 years since Karen sung this song. I've seen a many try to sing their songs, but not one has matched Karen's voice. So there's that... Regarding the band...they are fantastic. This singer is very good. It's just....Karen.
@@stephenwerner1662A very apt observation. I saw another comment that referred to L & F as “that band & cover band” That discription is the equivalent of calling the discovery of the wheel as a round object that rolls. Leonid & Friends with the inclusion of Ksenia Buzina is one of the most amazing musical groups of our time!
Okay…I was worried. This is cherished ground. God bless you Ksenia for capturing Karen’s spirit with your special gift. Happy birthday! And - OH - Leonid🤩Your gift for mastering the arrangement!
It’s not the least bit surprising that L&F brings excellence to everything you do, but this is extraordinary. The horns, the drums, the orchestra, and guitars are absolutely beautiful, but oh my goodness, Ksenia! Your vocals captured every nuance of Karen’s performances. You honored her by singing it so well, while not mimicking her. Even the richness and clarity in the lower register notes are beautiful. Thank you, and please bring your fans more from the Carpenters.
HOLY SHIT ! That was incredible! No one has ever covered a Carpenters song so well. I am sending this to Richard right now. I had tears in my eyes within 10 seconds and by the end, i was literally crying and had goosebumps all over. This is a gift to the world. Thank you to all of you for your drdication and hard work and for staying true to the original with no liberties or straying from the original composition. This was beautiful and drmonstrates the incredible talent of the musicians and the production skills of Leonid. Cant wait to see you in Oro Valley ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KSENIA!
In a world of chaos, Leonid & Friends brings calm and soothing splendour with this impeccable performance. Ksenia masterfully channeled Karen’s warm and earthy contaltro voice to perfection. The level of talent and musicianship within the group is once again astronomical. 🇨🇦
Not even close. Go listen to the original, missing the vibrato, the laser precision of high notes, the growl on low notes, the volume muting on mid notes. Open up the ear holes.
@@DoctorShocktor Ksenia’s vibrato is more subtle. And her voice is definitely warmer and rounder. As far as the growls you mention go, it’s likely your stomach turning knots from the bad Taco Bell you ate for dinner. 🤣
@MiThreeSunz Thank you. It's disheartening how much hate a collection of positive posts can generate. Ksenia is not trying to imitate anyone ... Indeed, Leonid and Friends' entire approach is to honor the musical traditions that inspire them.
WOW!!!! The love they put into this is heart wrenching. So glad I watched! Such delicate care and respect into every note. I clicked on it thinking "I dare you!". They transported me back to 1974 when I was 13; I almost teared up.
This choked me up. I swear some of those vowels were Karen singing. Amazing reproduction! Through the up rights, stuck the landing, grand slam! Thank you so much!
@@DoctorShocktor WE KNOW! Ksenia is NOT trying to duplicate Karen's voice. NOBODY EVER COULD! She's paying homage to her. GIVE IT A REST and go troll somewhere else!
Yet another amazing performance by all members. I've never heard anyone interpret Karen Carpenter's voice so perfectly...literally gave me chills. Happy Birthday Ms. Ksenia!!
Wow, what a beautiful performance. Karen's version is a great song, but Ksenia's voice and glamor are mesmerizing and just beautiful. Thank you Leonid and friends.
Thank you so much to all of you fabulous musicians. That song brings me back to my childhood & Karen Carpenter was such a phenomenal singer & musician. The Carpenter's were one of the greatest bands of our time. Thank you Leonid & friends.
I always thought I knew Karen Carpenter's voice, but it seems that Ksenia is a kind of "reborn Karen", a 99.99% perfect emulation. Ksenia and the band do an amazing job, as always.

I couldn't have said it better myself. The Carpenters talent level was off the charts! I'm glad they're keeping Richard and Karen's musical legacy alive.
Nicely said, and I agree. I am a big fan of Leonid and Friends. And I love everything that Ksenia adds to the group. I love watching her sing. You can always sense her true joy in singing. But don't take this wrong, but no one can replace Karen Carpenter. Something about the quality of Karen's voice, the emotion she was able to express with that voice ... I have just never heard anyone quite like it. Still, a beautiful rendition of "Superstar" given to us by this amazing group of musicians and singers.
@@ndpd11 I have to concur. I really love this cover. But it makes me realize just how good the original was - recorded 52 years ago with technology not even close to what exists today. Of course, while Karen had the voice Richard had the knack for arranging the songs to take advantage of it. They are still missed today. However, I consider this cover to be a great tribute to them. It is great to hear Ksenia take lead on another song that shows how talented she is.
Wow! Her voice is really suited to this song! She nailed it! The orchestra and instrumentation are so spot on! Love those French Horns!! Really a masterpiece in every way. I think The Carpenters would be proud!!! Go, Go, Leonid & Friends!!!!
In a world full of young, over-hyped, untalented female singers making millions as social media sensations, Ksenia is a breath of fresh air. As an Ohioan, I had the good fortune of seeing your band live in Cleveland in the summer of ‘22 and you were magnificent! Ksenia, you are a “once-in-a-generation”, CLASSY performer! Rick
Jazz, as you can see from my own post, we totally agree! She should be filling stadiums, not small venues like House of Blues here in Dallas. I told her that this video had hit 500K views and she was flabbergasted. She is a true "Superstar"
Wow. The most authentic cover of Superstar ever. Amazing from everyone, arrangement and performance, and especially Ksenia. Absolute perfection. Happy Birthday Ksenia.

@@RussCR5187 Me neither, they somehow pulled it off, making it look easy. Like everybody involved did their part in making it sound like a real Carpenters production.
This reproduction is just unbelievable. Ksenia’s voice has the most immaculate similarity to poor Karen from back in the day. It’s like it’s been sent down to her. The first word she sang sent a chill down my spine which remained till the end. Superb accuracy from the band also. Pure brilliance!
You have ALL done a superb job in recreating such a beautiful piece of music from many decades ago. Ksenia, you especially do a great job in honoring Karen by not trying to impersonate her, but just by singing this wonderful song in such a lovely way. Thank you all so much.
WOW!!!.....I'm speechless. I'm certain that Richard Carpenter and Bonnie Bramlett will love and approve this when they hear it, as will Karen Carpenter and Leon Russell listening from above. Beautifully done L&F.

This is the MOST beautiful cover of Karen Carpernter's "Superstar", that I have EVER heard. Leonid & Friends' Ksenia Buzina sings the classic and brings tears to your eyes as we remember the tragic story of the 70's superstar. Listen. It's absolute MAGIC.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s with a Carpenters 8-track next to my Foreigner and AC/DC. My friends laughed, but Karen's voice was so soothing and hypnotic. She would be extremely proud of this. You absolutely knocked it out of the park Ksenia!

The fact that this is so faithfully recreated and performed is an astonishing testament to the very high skill level of the musicians, singer and arranger who helped bring this beautiful rendition to fruition.
An absolute spot-on recreation of Superstar with the Royal Philharmonic. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
And matching lick for lick of the famous “Wrecking Crew”

Wow, as a life-long Carpenters fan, this is a fantastic cover of a beautiful song. Bravo 👏

She’s very good. But there will never be another Karen Carpenter.
How, How, How can Ksenia sing like Karen Carpenter??? Amazing! So talented!
No no Ksenia like Ksenia sings..does not need all these comparisons to Karin.. am fairly sure it’s not complementary..🇨🇦

Nice cover and she sings great. But Karen had a deeper, richer tone singing this. It was almost haunting. No disrespect. This group is amazing.
She sounds quite like her, but Karen had a nicer voice. Although, she is really good.
No one could sing with the velvet silky smooth voice of Karen. And I recommend she sing this 4 years ago. Even sent her the video.
Yeah, not really though. Karen had a generational, once-in-a-life time voice.

She nails it! I was never a JCS fan but this rendition is superb. Ksenia is indeed a star.
Beautiful.
And no. Go listen to the original - the emotion is EXACTLY what this one is missing, it’s a decent sing of the song, nothing more.
At 2:00 mark her emotions and enjoyment are evident here and throughout the rest of the performance..she's feeling it big time
@@DoctorShocktor I'm glad you are the judge of what triggers emotions in everyone else. Jerk.

In my neighborhood where I grew up we’d say she’s a tomato and easy on the eyes! Here she let’s us know how easy on the ears she is!
Exceptional on every front. You should see her resume. She defines incredible.
For me she looks more naturally beautiful on their fantastic My Old School cover.
This is the first cover of a Carpenters classic I've heard which is on a par with the original. Fantastic! No one else possesses Karen's singular voice but Ksenia's vocal talent is certainly comparable. And, as always, Leonid and his "friends" deliver an incredible performance.

Everyone at work has told me, "Whatever you want, whatever you need, we're here." I asked, "What if all I want to do is cry?" The reply was always the same, "If you need to cry, just come and find me."
One day, I delivered some binders to a person at work and he told me, "You look like you're about to cry." I told him, "I better go before I do." He told me, "No. What you needed was."
With my wife's passing, it was something that didn't have to happen. Her mother convinced her that doctors were no good. You know the line, "Once a person gets a thought into their head, good luck getting it out." No matter how hard I tried, I could never get my wife to go to the doctor. I apologize to you and everyone for going on so long.

Ksenia you are amazing ❤
Ksenia, you are the only person I've ever seen do justice to Karen Carpenter's vocals. Karen's vocals are extremely difficult for most women to duplicate not because of the high end, but rather the low end. Karen was just so beautifully smooth in that low range where many people cannot even go. You excel there too! This is best Carpenter's cover I've ever heard.
Like Karen always said "the money's in the basement" when being asked about her vocals.
By an amazing long shot. I was stunned to hear this, and thought no one would ever be able to match Karen Carpenter... This group never embarrasses themselves. They actually do the greatest justice to groups they cover.

Silky smooth, just like Karen Carpenter.
Lol, maybe. It’s a charming remake, but it’s nowhere near the quality or creativity of K.C.s original.
@@DoctorShocktor Technically great, but a bit sterile. The singer obviously has a beautiful voice, but it doesn't have Karen's special quality, nor does it convey the emotion Karen packed into the lyrics.
She has a very good voice, uses it well, and is enchantingly lovely.
She’s not Karen, but it is a beautiful, respectful to the original version that really reminds you of the very great Carpenters. ❤

If only the vocal wasn’t auto tuned to death. Arghh. Why can’t we just hear an actual vocal. Can NO ONE sing in tune??
Karen sure did. She could sing with no reverb, no nothing, just her amazing instrument.
@@videditorEB1what makes you think the vocal was auto-tuned? It sounded pure and natural to me
@@westwasbest Hi there. 🙂
@@videditorEB1 thank you for your detailed explanation
This is the second person I’ve heard who did a good job in the attempt, nobody out there is truly what Karen was but keznia and leonid and friends have been outstanding doing Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire songs which on some I think they do even better then the originals themselves.
What a beautiful tribute to the amazing Karen Carpenter - congratulations on yet another amazing hit!

I couldn't have said it better myself. The Carpenters talent level was off the charts! I'm glad they're keeping Richard and Karen's musical legacy alive.
Agree 100%!! Ksenia was perfect!
Beautifully said!
Smart, genuine, beautiful and blessed with an angelic voice, she should be filling stadiums with adoring fans! Seldom does true musical talent come in such an appealing package!
@UCe2-pXicv82Zgi-LBqKB8vg Ksenia & band - I am a retired music educator and current professional saxophonist who has been a devoted fan of yours for several years. Getting my musical training during the era of the popularity of Chicago, BS&T and EW&F, your stunning group immediately caught my attention. Your incredible package of talent, passion and production skills sets the gold standard for today’s musical scene!
But last night when I saw her in person with Leonid and Friends, I was glad it was House of Blues. She is a remarkable talent. A very humble and genuine person. I told her that this video had hit 500K views and she was flabbergasted. She is a true "Superstar"
She is awesome, beautiful, and amazing. Love her.
Wow. The most authentic cover of Superstar ever. Amazing from everyone, arrangement and performance, and especially Ksenia. Absolute perfection. Happy Birthday Ksenia.
This is the best cover for Superstar! Ksenia completely nailed it. The arrangement was true to the original Carpenters recording. 🎶
@@ALousyGolfer1 Carpenters' cover isn't the original recording.
Carpenters' cover version is the best
This is the single best Carpenters cover that I've ever heard in my life, this was like pure perfection as it sounded like the original version as well. I am stunned and as I was listening to it, I had to tear up because I know Karen Carpenter would be so proud if she heard this in person today. Ksenia you did her proud here and happy birthday to you! Please do more Carpenters covers you guys!
I didn't think anyone could do that. Amazing.
It's hard to find the words to express how good this cover is.
beautiful version ❤… I still miss Karen after
all these years … her story was so tragic but so nice to hear her music lives on
You have ALL done a superb job in recreating such a beautiful piece of music from many decades ago. Ksenia, you especially do a great job in honoring Karen by not trying to impersonate her, but just by singing this wonderful song in such a lovely way. Thank you all so much.
Moved to tears.
Thank you Leonid & Friends for this sensational performance!
Happy birthday Ksenia !
Ksenia = Kryptonite ❤
WOW!!!.....I'm speechless. I'm certain that Richard Carpenter and Bonnie Bramlett will love and approve this when they hear it, as will Karen Carpenter and Leon Russell listening from above. Beautifully done L&F.
50 years in the business and I'm totally enchanted by you lot!! If only, if only the world could have your spirit love and energy. With sincere love from the UK. XXXX
You said it all for me!
Wow! Absolutely beautiful and haunting rendition of this Carpenters classic. Happy birthday, Ksenia!
I'm the same. I'm a hard rocker guy myself. Led Zeppelin and Van Halen to name a few. But Karen Carpenter's voice and the emotion she could convey in a song just kinda grabs you and pulls you in.
I would love to know what Richard Carpenter thinks about this version. I'm sure he'd love it. How could he not?
@@edwardstudebaker9821 He likes it. Him and his family went to their concert back on November 18 in Oxnard, CA. He even had Ksenia come to his house and signed some Carpenters memorabilia for her and took her out for dinner with his wife Mary. She has some pictures of the meeting posted on her Facebook page.
@@edwardstudebaker9821 This version is indeed a beautiful tribute to Karen Carpenter. I closed my eyes the second time I heard Ksenia do this song and it was like I was hearing Karen Carpenter all over again. I totally agree with you. How could Richard Carpenter not love this version?
