Thank you on the safety tip with the carriage. The second set of eyes. I watched ZZ he kept his eyes on Mark while he got that piece of wood. That is why I really like watching both channels you all have each other’s back. Everyone goes home in one piece.
I like both of the channels...for different reasons. I like Marks point of view, and Eddie i enjoy your porspective too. Hang in there guys, be safe on those extremely dangerous jobs you make look so easy.
Four o’clock in the afternoon that’s nice colour and figure in that cherry , sitting hear watching you while doing my paperwork then supper and back to the next job anyway have a nice day
Hi Edd, I am curious to what quilted cherry is as you say. I have a good bit of cherry and it dose smell so different when I am walking around the property when she’s in the shanty burning it.
Sometimes when the blade gets hot if there’s a sliver you can’t reset the pin until it’s cooled up. So we will start the saw up get it up to full speed then spray with water until cool. Then reset pin. I was told shouldnt spray with water while it’s not running that tension will be lost from the blade not sure how true that is to be honest could be doing it wrong all these years I wouldn’t know
I was just talking to the saw doctor about that exact issue of spraying water on a blade. He told me absolutely never spray water on the blade. Let the blade spin an air cool. Thank you
@@TheEddie1014 I was told to spray water by our old head sawyer had been sawing for 45 years that does make more sense to me to air cool if it gets hot.
@@TheEddie1014 ok that’s great to know thanks Eddie. I’m just a young guy and was just doing what I was told lol that’s great I will start air cooling the saw
@@TheEddie1014 it’s not red rot. The wood is all split and stacked. Covered on top. Just dark dark rust color. Ma nature is just keeping us interested lol
Just wondering if that quilted pattern is common to a certain cherry tree or if it occurs in any cherry species. You say this is a black cherry, what kind of black cherry is it if you know?

Those Cherry 4x4 should make nice table legs. Good looking Cherry.
Only problem with that is it’s the pith of the tree. Some of them would work though. Thank you

Hello Andrew
That 671 detroit sounds like it is on its last foot. Might be time for an overhaul...or a different power source.
Hopefully it’s got a little more life in it. Eventually we’ll have to overhaul or replace. Thank you
Need all the equipment to be safe. OSHA requires it and so should you. Efficiency is key to getting the job done just a little quicker.
Yes it is. Thank you
great video again
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you
Sweet!
Thanks!

The quilting is in the grain it’s a couple steps before the grain becomes curly. Thank you

Wild how that log is strawberry blond. I have one in my firewood pile that is the darkest rust color I ve ever seen. Any idea what causes that?
Yours sounds like the beginning of red rot. Thank you

There’s about 18 different cherries that grow all are considered black cherry except a few. Quilting is common in the grain. Thank you
