You don't have basic tools like a screwdriver and some screws? You can find some old wood laying around your neighborhood just look harder. And I'm pretty sure you can get a laptop battery for cheap if you don't have one laying around.

Nice video, but... You could use more audio and explanations instead of a music. Knowing what the materials are, the tools, and the dimensions would help a lot.
Can I make a suggestion? Articulate the board in the middle so either side can tip on its own. Then make a simple tilt switch for each side. That way you don't need to operate the switches with your toes. Just tip forwards to go forwards. Tip one side to turn. If you want you could have a reverse as well by tipping backwards.
Next time... How to make a Xbox one with a Hammer,wires,Two Baatteries and a Bottle....

well if you use brushed motor esc x2 and a cc3d or Naze 32 flight controller and set it up to run 2 wheel tank style and drop the two training wheels you would have a Hoverboard.

+Anas Malas that is cells but I am looking at this through the current systems. the reason why the real "hover" boards catch on fire is due to bad circuitry and not a good heat sink. every machine that have a AC or DC circuit no matter what it is needs a heat sink. actually any machine in general. though this motor is exceptional due to how it runs and how it was made.

You cant, cause there is no balance leads, nor i have seen charger that has leads for 8 cell lipo for that matter. Of course you could make your own and group them in 4 cell packs, in witch case this could possible work, but that needs some knowledge on lipo batterys.
More safe way would be buy ready made lipo batterys and proper charger, than this house burning contraption...
