I've decided to do my first ever reaction video, and because I've never really listened to One Direction, I thought I'd have a listen to the band and tell you what I think about their music and their music videos. One DIrection didn't end up being my cup of tea but I can acknowledge the talent and dedication they possess!

I can't believe you've never listened to One Direction until now! One Direction are one of my favourite bands, ESPECIALLY the last two albums! Once the boys got more into the writing side of things the music improved ten fold. Definitely worth checking out their solo stuff too - Harry Styles is great if you're up for the more indie/rock type thing. Niall's is good too. Everything else is pretty poppy.
Yeah it seems they've all sort of come out of their creative shells and taken a more active part, which is freaking rad.

Yes I have - it's technically RnB but I'm using 'poppy' as an umbrella term, as Louis, Liam, and Zayn's stuff kinda falls into the same bracket.

I never paid much attention to them and thought "oh god a boy band..." but then I don't remember how I did but I stumbled upon a video of them singing live and I was blown away. Most popular singers nowadays aren't good so I was surprised when I found they could really sing, so then I got really into them and now love them lol. Sorry for the novel.

I was a 1D virgin before Harry Styles performed solo on SNL. I literally had never heard of them! I'm way older than probably everyone here and I don't have any kids, so they totally fell under my radar. I don't listen to much radio, but I have a huge record collection and have always been obsessed with music. When I saw Harry on SNL I was like, "Who's this talented new singer? I like him!" and was shocked to find he was one of the hugest pop stars on the planet LMAO. I just LOVE his solo album. Anyway, my 1D favorites are Kiss You, Best Song Ever, Little Things, Fool's Gold, Infinity, Drag Me Down, 18, Right Now and Through the Dark. Check out the Kiss You video, it's so adorable and hilarious!

their most recent album made in the am is the least pop!! midnight memories is mainly a rock album, if you're interested. but i reccomend mitam or four, their 4th album. also their solo careers are definitely worth checking out!!

Mathew McKenna I think you could like Niall's album too, he has like the chillest style of them all, history is really in his style
History is the last single they brought out as a band to thank the fans for their support throughout the years. The lyrics is pretty much about that, but you probably found out because it's in your playlist now. Just like their last album "Made In The AM" it's entirely dedicated to people who supported them. The songs are better because they were written without the thought of performing them live, it never had a big commercial release as they went on a break short after. If you listen to the very first album versus the last one it's nice to see how much their style as a band has changed (for the better) in such a short amount of time. Maybe you could also react to their solo stuff, it's nice to see how different their music is individually versus when they have to combine it to make an album together.

I really enjoyed this reaction. Liked seeing an outside view but I liked that you really gave your thoughts and listened to the music without outsides views persuading you if that makes sense. Many people take that they are a boyband or that they aren't their style as a way to instantly hate, but I really enjoyed how you did it

I know some people have already given you suggestions of their music, but if you want some more haha, I recommend listening to Walking in the Wind, Fireproof, Ready to Run, What a Feeling, Fool's Gold, No Control, Something Great, Don't Forget Where You Belong.

Watching people react to 1D songs makes me realise how creative their music videos are. They all have a plot or is filmed in a creative way (like night changes and history) and their not the typical pop songs with just a dude singing with a bunch of girls in bikinis (not that that fits the boy and mold tho). That’s part of why I love them so much

They've grown so much and "made in the a.m." is, as many people said, one of their best albums you should listen to it! Also, the singles are sometimes not as good as some other songs who aren't that popular and that's kinda sad

I agree with what other people are saying. Their other songs are just as good. One direction did so many different kinds of songs there stuff for everyone so go try listen to it. aside from what u saw i would recommend MITAM album its their best ever. each song on it is soooo good. and other songs like 18 , dont forget where u belong , story of my life , fools gold. etc. Thanks for not judging them just coz they are boyband. Really loved this reaction.

I only "discovered" 1D half a year ago when my daugther (13) became a fan... my favorite band is Muse, totally different, but I now have two playlists on my phone: one of Muse and one of 1D (with the solo songs), and I am going to see Harry Styles on tour, with my daughter (I saw Muse twice already, but when they go on tour I will go again!!)

the reason their voices are so distinct but they are in a band together is because they didn't create the band themselves. the x factor did. they all meant to be solo, but some were going to be kicked off and simon created one direction instead. i am a big fan of them and i think one direction was a great beginning place for them, but they were always meant to have solo careers because they have different voices that are meant for different genres
