id always loved this character, im a big fan of his bully playstyle where "im gonna try and counter what my opp is doing from fucking anywhere, if i guess wrong then i get clapped but if i guess right then i have the tools to clap them". love how his level 3 is a counter. these buffs look fun as hell.
8:42 because its metal! although, yeah, he doesnt even kill anybody in his movie aside from a bird (temporarily). he did almost blow up the planet, at least. his armored squadron almost definitely killed a lot of wildlife by blowing up the forest, which was under cooler's direct supervision and command. i guess its just a consequence of being a movie villain when your movie is set out in nature.
Idk about this honestly. I usually stick out a 2m when they check with 5h and it's pretty consistent on nuking Coolered players on neutral. You just pretend your respecting and wait for it. Maybe bait with ki blast
@@mahodgy actually it’s a bit less niche than you’d expect. You can get a loop from (slightly past round) start 5H 236S 2M repeat, giving you solid damage from a lariat.
@@Kitsune986 I mean, not even having a gapless and safe cancel option off 2H seems like a fundamental flaw to me. I can't find too many reasons not to play goget4 over cooler, they cover the same archetype quite alike but goget4 seems just better in many more aspects.

And something that wasn't mentioned is how because his OTG is faster, it's a true frame trap now. Using 214S from any move that's not 5L will beat all jabs and jump attempts. Imagine: Cooler uses 2M from halfscreen, 5S, pushing the enemy even further away, and 214S smokes them for thinking they can just jump away for free. AFAIK, not a single other character has something like this. And it's 18F, borderline unreactable. So unless you're expecting his fullscreen low, you're either getting smoked or Cooler can vanish and just get in. As far as I see it, Cooler's better than Gogeta 4. Better meter gain. Much, _much_ better oki. Bigger normals. Better neutral. More useful assists. 3H is still one of the best moves in the game. Now you have the added mind game of whether or not he'll 5H after _anything._ 5L > 5H. 2M > 5H. 3H > 5S >5H. Jiren's 2L is a god button, but at least you don't have to worry about 2M > 2L or 5S > 2L or anything like that. Speaking of his 5H, it's arguably better than almost all of Gogeta 4's entire kit now. Gogeta 4 has EX lariat, which is more valuable than ever because of his meter gain nerf (you can't just constantly spam it anymore) and double air dash. Yeah, he has solo mix, but technically so does Cooler now because his 5H jails into OTG and his EX divekick, which is plus, beats 2H. He could also: DR, backdash, reset his pressure with 5L, or cross-up midscreen. 5H > SD in the corner is also a true blockstring, so he can get easy true SD 50/50s now. Once again, because 5H does everything, it also shoots his guaranteed damage through the roof off _any_ touch. How you can look at _all_ of this and say "Yeah, this is underwhelming" is genuinely insane.
@S.P.Kitsune idk I've been playing cooler for years and honestly for players who are actually good at the game and don't mind being patient and blocking, cooler isn't that much of a threat. The 5h buff is glorious, but most of his bonus options off of 5h require a bar to jail and sometimes that bar isn't always available. Coolers buttons are also kinda clunky and you normally can't even get tricky with the overhead pressure since mid air you can only string 1 button, so no double overheads or triple (in gogetas case) you also can't faint a 2L in for a mix up since he has none. Also hitting his dive kicks on an opponent virtually offers no rewards unless you have bar since he still can't combo off of his divekicks so if I'm trying to jail my opponent but they get bonked by the divekick, it's usually like a "ok" moment since you can't even vanish it into a combo or anything, just gotta spend bar or just watch them slide across the screen lol I like the changes but honestly I think characters like beerus offer better mix, a better full screen button that isn't -1 but goes through ki properties & assist, same jailing potential, etc you just gotta hope you cash out in the mind game with cooler

If Cooler didn't have character specific combos, he would be 1 of my main characters.
Bruh the beam buff is being slept on here, you can 2M after beam in the corner, giving him EZ LOOPS

It's strong but not an easy team to play. I played it with Vegeta A/Cooler A/18 B.
His new routes doesn't connect against Trunks. It works against Z, DBS Broly. I don't like character specific combos.
