- Finally got the 2:42 and the first ever sub-2:50 RTA, so I'm probably done with this category for now unless new strats are found/there's more competition. Most of this run was very good, but there were also a few parts where it wasn't optimal and worse than my previous run.
This run has a few new strats and better optimization than the 2:45. Some strats, including the Limp Nudle elevator skip, could still be used, but I don't think it's worth the risk.

This game usually doesn't crash for me if I have it running for a few hours.

I analyzed your context in which you say that it is worse to do this race on a console than a PC and in fact you are correct because most of the actions you perform are not possible on a Ps4 for example, I haven't tried it yet but maybe be possible in up to 3 hours on my console, but you really are amazing, you show a lot of skill and curiosities that I didn't even know about the game
yeah a lot of his mini starts like how he spawns cars and how quickly he can switch would be very difficult if not impossible on console

Its ez as walking if u get the distraction skill with the botnet its super ez if u get the skill that allows ur car or drone to drop gadgets
I bought this game a couple months ago since it was on sale for $6, and I'm only now getting into it. It's been so fun since I know what I have to do to progress.

Ubisoft should do another watchdogs in san francisco. Characters and the plot was clearly the strong suit of this one. Making the personality irrevelant with legion is a direction I never understood hence never touched the game.

I kinda gave up on practicing cause F1 2018 the game was for free and GTA5 got its new update which was pretty big
I mainlt gave up cause i didn't even have my keys binded properly, was losing heaps of time on wire work.

I was within 2 secs of you on the 1st mission before the long cutscenes, then i do the 1st mission, go to hook motion picture studios, got a bike, went where you went, entered the building and total amnesia, i was thinking for over 10 secs what to do instead of looking at the notes i had just below my nose and i died, same thing happened in my 2nd and 3rd try, maybe got 20 secs further than on the previous attempt
So yeah.. practice practice practice

I was never interested in it and I wasn't committed. I did runs of WD1 and I didn't think I would return to speedrunning after that. It took me 5 years to come back because I have more time now due to the pandemic

Also, I never realized the full potential of Shock Bombs and the Stun Gun.
You can shut down robots with the stun gun, destroy ATM machines and shipments with the shock bomb, incapacitate enemies with either of them to one-shot them with a lethal weapon... and reasons counting.
Yep, both of them can shut down lasers as well.

I've completed this game 2 times stealth and guns blazing, i still can't speedrun it good. Anyone got tips?
You probably need to practice more or use better strats/routing. To be more consistent, you need to follow a fixed route/use same strats so that you can know what do for each mission/between missions
I think I'd really like to get into speedrunning this game. Played it casually twice and liked it quite a lot. Any tips how I should start to practice?

It depends on what your goal is. For me, I practiced each mission individually and the routes between each mission several times until I got comfortable. You can also practice the run in segments. For example:
1. Beginning -> Finishing Eye for an Eye
2. Hack teh World -> Ending
Or you can practice each mission operation individually according to my splits, and this is what I would recommend: Walk in the Park -> Cyberdriver-> False Profits-> Haum Sweet Haum -> ... -> Motherload
I might also make a video tutorial of this run, but I don't know when

I really want to attempt a speed run but I’m on PS4 so I can’t get that timer thing and I’m really good at the game so it sucks 😞
You don't need the timer on screen (Livesplit) to speedrun this game because it would be timed by RTA. All you would need is a decent recording of the game from start to finish.

@@tacobellsucks9731 The timer on PC isn't automatic (even though it probably can be made to be), so it's still done manually. You just have to get used to pressing it when doing runs.
If you are serious, I recommend this timer on the phone: futuretrostudios.com/frameperfect/ . This also works: one.livesplit.org/
You could also try using something like Remote Play or getting a capture card (costs money) if you really want the timer next to the game.
Or you can also not have a timer at all
