Removing the old fuel pressure reg was interesting lol same with fitting the map sensor it's in a funny spot. And drilling the oil return holes was pretty tight to. Pretty straight forward if you take your time and male sure you have everything you will need :)

@@Eros189 hey mate! I used drilling grease and just did a little at a time taking out shavings as I went, also leave the oil in and once you finish drilling drain it immediately :) that's the path I went and it worked, just take your time 👌
Seriously people just go find an xr6t and replace whatevers fucked because the turbo barra has slightly different engine components for a reason. Looks like fun doin all this shit though
I mean yeah if your talking bf mk2 onwards.. but good luck getting that cheap enough now days 👍 would rather make like 70+ rwhp more with this setup like this... like it did though 👌 has been fun though, several events later only issue was the flex plate bolts coming loose :)
Yea these turbo barras are creeping up in price lately. I paid $39k for my first ba mk1 in 03 and $44k for my current fg mk 1 in 08 which i still have Up the barra!

Yeah man they should fit, mine only went in a few turns by hand and cranked it s few more later. Use thread tape. I found the 3/8s hec nipple from repco or supercheap to fit the best.... my bunnings 3/8s nipple didnt fit
It's a little different in the fact a fg turbo manifold sits the turbo forward a bit more so you have to get fg parts cooler kit, intake etc but essentially the same but you will have better results with a fg motor :)

I have a video of this on the dyno and a walkaround of current mods, list in description ,n/a untuned it makes 210 rwhp on a roller dyno, so with a tune 230-50 could be achievable. Which is not bad n/a

Was wondering if it is worth doing it to my BA XT, but with all the other gear, brakes and suspension, might be easier to get a XR6T. How much money did you spend all up just to convert, parts, Dyno etc.
I'm planning on doing a video on the cost of the conversion and build. I ended up doing brakes diff and suspension later in the build :) there's a few other vids on what I've done since and how it performs if you wanna check them out 👍 I'll do a cost video soon, but where I am and the xr6 turbo market it was definately cheaper this route, more power with less boost is pretty cool. You just cant chase those crazy numbers or will go bang. I'll be upping the boost later to limit test stuff

Sweet, is it risky running the turbo conversion on the N/A ecu? and how are you controlling the boost? and have you had any issues with running the N/A Ecu? and what tune have you dont to the ecu? Cheers
@@malcolmgriffiths8244 no risk at all really, wastegate controls the boost aswell as a boost controller. Just means you get all the boost straight up... I like it haha

The block fitting is an NPT fitting not a BSP. The threads are rolled on BSP so leaks will occur from this.
Can use either 🤘 2years no leaks :)
Dont forget the oil restrictor on the oil feed line or you will blowing oil past your bearings.

If you regap Iridium plugs , there is a fair chance you will have the earth electrode crack under boost / heat
The iridiums are pregapped to .8 :) but if you did that yeah you're right

About 1700 in parts and 750 for the tune, you could do it cheaper though, I just decided to do fuel pump and wastegate actuator aswell :)

Running a n/a ecu but that does mean you cant tune boost through the ecu so yep just running that with tuning 👍 not sure what you mean by time?
