I think it depends on the aspects natally... For example, you're talking about trusting easily someone, but i know a guy who has an aquarius ascendant conjunct Jupiter and this conjunction squares his Moon/Mercury/Pluto in scorpio, so his ascendant/Jupiter falling on my venus makes my venus squares his moon/mercury/Pluto in scorpio too and i can tell you that i don't trust him at all !!! His moon/Mercury/Pluto scorpio squaring my venus and falling on my 8th is very bad. He seems to be nice at the beginning but then, he tried to " help " me like if he was a guru or something like that and when i didn't believe what he said or not following his advices, he became a monster. Insults, threats, very mean words. Just a little experience of mine to say, we have to see all the aspects about this venus / Jupiter is making but yeah venus / jupiter can be sweet like all jupiter conjunctions :)
the monster part is more of the pluto squaring your venus. jupiter and venus are more benefic planets so they wouldnt have that type of negative effect on their own
