The Orange Empire Traction Company was renamed the Southern California Railway Museum in 2019. The name change was intended to reflect the museum's broader focus on all aspects of railway history, not just electric traction.
The museum's collection now includes a variety of locomotives, freight cars, and passenger cars from different eras and different types of railways. The museum also operates a heritage railroad on its grounds, which features both steam and diesel-powered trains.
The name change was also seen as a way to make the museum more accessible to a wider audience. The term "railway" is more familiar to many people than the term "traction," and the new name more accurately reflects the museum's diverse collection and mission.
It was a pleasure to help guide you guys through the museum! Great video!
Thank you, Nathan! We enjoyed every minute of visiting SCRM and the tour you so kindly offered us.
Hope you both are doing great! And I’m f you don’t post a new video before end of the year, I’ll say it here: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The person operating the car is the motorman, or operator. He is not referred to as the driver. You don't drive a railcar, you operate it.
Of course, you are right. Please forgive our oversight.
The Trolly Song from Meet Me In St Louis
You are absolutely right! It is the Trolley Song from Meet Me in St. Louis. Thanks for watching and supporting our channel. Much appreciated!
Chattanooga Choo Choo is my song guess
Actually, it was from "Meet Me In St. Louis" and the trolley song.
