Definitely a bug, don't expect mobs to pass when using crown later down the road, this bug has happened multiple times with all sorts of redirection spells.

Yeah it’s the same with cra eye for an eye spell and iop fight back (single target tho), they pass next to u. Jashin ritual- they’ll hit u.
