I grew up listening to Michael Hedges because he is from my hometown. He even came to my school once. So glad to see others keeping his spirit alive. Beautiful composition mate.
Gints truly has a unique style. There’s a distinct voice he has found with the instrument. It’s dynamic, melodic and rhythmic all at the same time. He puts it all together in such a way that it leaves you in awe.
Interesting how loose his E string gets...frequencies will do that to strings...looks cool. Anyways props to whoever was in charge of the filming it looks great.
I think it’s great, depends on how you use it and if you over do it but it really adds another layer of versatility to the guitar. I get that not everyone is a fan, but I think it’s pretty fascinating to combine complex rhythms, chords and percussion all within a single instrument.
@@Ashnno Exactly. People like Mike Dawes, Michael Kobrin, Spencer Elliot have become a master of using percussion, and they are some of the most highly-regarded fingerstyle guitarists in the world
Eagle Racer Right. I think it’s amazing people like Hedges ventured from fingerpicking rudiments and experimented with the ENTIRE instrument. To say that a piece isn’t beautiful because the artist includes a whole interpretation of another instrument is just really close minded and a conventional way of thinking. If you’re in that mindset, it seems like you’re searching for music with a specific sound in mind anyway, so why bother leaving redundant negative comments on actually well written pieces??
Wowww. The strumming patterns are complicated already plus multi-tasking the percussion, melody, bass is on another planet level.

Much appreciated George. Yes, Michael Hedges is a important influence here!

Pretty sweet. Had more of a loose composition with all the chords and natural harmonics but I like the style and flavor it had.

I'm guessing you haven't heard Michael Kobrin's 'Alive' then?

Что-то всё больше гитаристов становятся больше барабанщиками, чем гитаристами. Вывертов-то тут много, но музыки нету.
