Mychal, I came across your site and discussion with Alan Oken today. Alan did an esoteric astrological "reading" of my natal horoscope in the late 1980s. Wow! Wow! Wow! He had my soul purpose in a nutshell. His books are a wonderful gift, especially "Soul-Centered Astrology". I am a student of the Ageless Wisdom Teachings, which includes astrology, written by Alice Bailey and The Tibetan Spiritual Master, Djwhal Khul. I am thankful that I saw him on your You Tube today so soon after his passing over. He is and was an Accepted Disciple on the Path, and likely an Initiate, a World Teacher. What a beautiful interview! I love Alan's 60s vibe- it was that culture that drew me in initially and brought me to astrology. I also love the merging of east and west, the loving detachment- so much wisdom and beauty
LSD can still be used to get us to higher levels- it is most definitely a spiritual tool though and not just something to play around with. It really helped me open my minds eye and become more connected to myself and others. I also totally feel that there's a time and place and that and the substances must be respected.
I bumped into Oken 40 yrs or so ago, his books were unreadable, so 'removed' from reality. He was as 'New Age' as they come, in this field. Gemini Moon!! Antithetical paradigm to the Psychological, Naturalist and Neo - Traditional schools who emerged in the 60's-80's.
