- Winds at 125 mph. Milton is a Cat 3 hurricane moving NE at 17. Pressure in the eye continues to rise indicating Milton is weakening. The eye wall is open, also an indication of a weakening system. The storm is still likely to make landfall as a major hurricane.

They are saying that, like this gentleman said, to give you a worst-case scenario. They want people to take this very seriously - because it is a very serious storm - so that people evacuate. If you do not evacuate, and the eye hits your area, there is a real chance you will be among the bodies counted. If you need help, you are also placing the lives of first responders at risk. The point of all this is to take it very seriously and evacuate inland to save lives - possibly your own.

I agree I have left this comment on all these videos. Fear mongering. They knew days ago it was going to weaken before landfall. Possibly even a 2. But NOONE reported that all you heard was CAT 5 YOUR GOING TO ALL DIE. 6 million people sat in traffic for days! Because they wanted more views. I get being wrong but it’s following the predicted models beside the shifts south but I called that one

@@suscon1140 cnn did not explain it the way you did just now. You explained the chain reaction that could happen if folks did not evacuate. We know it’s serious, but saying “you’re going to die” only illicits panic and anxiety, road incidents, unnecessary violence, etc.
I would hope people would take numbers like “12-15ft storm surge in x number of counties, 165mph wind” seriously without evoking a panic response.

I appreciate this guy's honesty. I went through 6 websites all giving different and or past information, all trying to sensationalize the situation for views... before I saw an up to date positioning and track prediction of Milton. One was guy at some dump showing debris from a past hurricane because there was nothing happening locally. Anything for viewers seems to be the motto these days.

I relaxed two nights ago because of Dennis Phillips words about the actual forecast. I felt that since Saturday it was going to hit exactly where it’s hitting exactly at the time it was going to hit. I don’t know how bad Fort Myers storm surge is, but I worry about them and Venice and Charlotte and all of those places were those people needed to evacuate, not Pinellas County

I put the coordinates down three days ago and so far I was dead right except for the time but in my heart, I knew it was gonna come earlier than they were saying. Actually, the time is more accurate to what they were saying five days ago.

With Helene, the surge coincided with high tide rolling in as well, so it made double the damage for that factor. I wonder when high tide is scheduled for this west coast area?
